I managed to trip the SawStop tonight. Not sure what happened, though no blood or missing digits.

New cartridge on the left. You can see how deformed the aluminum is on the right. Saw blade is most likely okay, but now has to go back to Forrest so they can true it up and resharpen it.

It'll cost about $200 to buy a backup cartridge and have the blade dealt with. A lot cheaper than the hospital costs involved when you chop of a finger.

It amazes me the saw stop can react quick enough to keep from lopping off a digit.

Here is a high speed video of the guy that invented the saw stop actually sticking his own finger in a running saw blade.

Not all scars!
I have a cool scar on my hip from the surgery. I pretty much have to moon anyone to show it. No one really wants to see it.

My nephews house has a generator that runs off propane that automatically kicks in when the power goes off. He also buried the big ugly propane tank and put in a service nozzle at his gate so the truck doesn't have to enter his property to fill the tank.

The only problem with his no expense spared house it that it was built with metal framing instead of wood. The wifi in and around the house sucks. Put in 4 routers and it still only gets good signal in the rooms that actually contain the routers.
