I bought tickets to Daytona next Feb today, just down for the weekend and to watch the big race, just to say we've been there and done that.

Also looking at going to see The Who in Raleigh in April, as they don't get to DC until November 15 and we might not be here then.

Devon named Lanna. The day I brought her home Devon walked out of the house like a woman sizing up the competition. She stood in front of her and said, she has big eyes, like lanna Lang. Then she walked to the back and said "she has big hips like Lanna Lang, I am going to call her Lanna". It stuck
Glen gets a gold star for that one

Sharyn's Honda is called Patsy, it's her trusty steed. The other two cars remain nameless.

I call my 911 "the 911" and the El Camino "the El Camino." Not real original but inarguably accurate. Sometimes I call the El Camino the Elky, mostly when typing.

As to my fun with plumbing fun yesterday:

I think I see the problem here.

My wife came in my home office and told me the toilet was running. 10 or so years ago we bought some nice toilets that will not ever clog. The toilet will flush about anything. The sewer line may plug but not the toilet. They are American Standard and we like them. The flush is almost an explosion in sound from the tank and poof, it's gone. The old toilets would clog with a single square of TP. OK, that is an exaggeration maybe two squares. It was low grade builder quality POS.

I lifted the tank lid and all looked fine. Then I wiggled the flush valve and it lifted up.

It had somehow snapped off at the base. You can see the broken plastic at the threads. I used my standard string of profanity and they made me feel better but did not help the situation. OK, simple fix. (Yea right)

Shut off the water and let the water drain from the tank. Hmmm, I said shut off the water! So I turned the valve a little harder. It still was letting water through. OK, grab the water meter tool and shut the water off at the street.

Drain the water from the house pipes and then remove the fill valve and remove the tank bolts. The rubber seals on the tank are just disintegrating so run to the store to get new tank bolts and seals. I had bought a replacement flush valve long ago because it is not a standard valve and I am glad I did. The store had nothing like it. Grab the bolts and seals and get home.

Replacement is the reversal of removal. No real issues. Only one trip to the store all is well (so far).

Have on toilet that will flush a cat. The other one my brother put in, it can barely manage to change the color in the bowl after a pee.

Cat training update. Mom put toilet training litter kwitter thing on top of the toilet with the seat down and lid closed. It is made to be stable with both the lid and seat up. Didn't see it happen, but the kwitter and litter were all over the bathroom floor, so think the cat jumped up and knocked the whole thing off. Now the cat won't use the littler kwitter even when it is sitting on the floor. Arrrrgh. I HATE Alzheimer's.
