I hope this time next year I'm just about ready to make the permanent jump from DC to OC.

Snow ain't so bad, at least it eventually melts and goes away. There is something I find much worse...LEAVES!!!
The leaves, they are everywhere, millions of them! Under and around and in the plants and flower beds. They don't melt and you can't burn them (legally). Nooo, you have to rake them up, bag them, and put them out to the curb. And do they go willingly? NO, thy clog up the rake and you have keep picking the ones that get skewered off the rake tines. Those smelly, rustling, leftovers of summer are worse than white fluffy, quiet snow. Oh they try to make leaves look like fun showing people diving into big piles of them. All acting like that pile of leaves is as much fun as a ball pit. But do you know how much WORK it is to rake all those leaves into that big pile in the first place? And if there's any wind at all, just forget it. Not only does the wind unpile your leaves, it seems to bring more from God knows where. And then theres the cold wet leaves hiding just under dry ones. All wet and smelly, sticking together making the pile totally unacceptable for jumping into. And you do know the dogs peed and pooped on those leaves, don't you. I ain't jumping into that pile, no way. Fun? I think not. Nope, I'll take snow over leaves...at least until the first snow I have to shovel off the drive and sidewalk.

Morning Y'all.
Well today I get to go sit in a class room at the state police headquarters and re-certify my state inspection license. Wonderful. I know I know, but Rick, if you are leaving why are you doing that? Well 'cause nuttin' is set in stone and it makes a great second form of ID when buying a spoon, since the back ground check goes through the State Police, what a better form of ID than a license from them. It's much easier to get a gun than to get this license

No comment as for playing motorboat.
Hell NO as related to a real motorboat. I don't need a big hole in the water to pour money into.

Only have one more coat on the kitchen baseboard to paint...light at the end of the tunnel on 12p-1a nights of painting after work. Over 275 hrs invested in wall refurb/paint in the new (to us) house...
I love motor-boating

Well that was fun. Out of twenty people at the test I was the only one to recerc withoug needing the book. You have to pass the test the first time without a book and from that point on it is supposed to be an open book. The trooper in this district is in the process of weeding out the non hackers, so recirc is just like the initial testing. Wow I feel smart, but after a few decades of knowing the laws I SHOULD know the material

So, will you take it to the local dealership to get it fixed?

Oh hell no, I can't afford to pay to have me fix the damn thing. Besides it's already fixed, they would have me wait a week or so for parts

We had a great office party today. Tons of tasty food, holiday music in the background, and 3-4 dozen of our colleagues. Even a few former colleagues showed up for the festivities. Actually, the party is still going on, so I think maybe I need to get my ass back in there!
