Dave, do you have a Maker's shop in your area? They should have an engine lathe you can use to make a production run or two. At least the three I've visited have at least an engine lathe better suited for turning metal.

Oh boy, get to go have a surgeon cut on my neck this morning. Not looking forward to going out in the cold despite the lack of precipitation.

There is no way you would catch me living in an area where the thermometer is scaled to -60

Rick, that scale also goes to 120. I would bet the record high of all time is not much above 100 there. In Phoenix one could peg that scale on the high side.

In August of 2012 it was 113 in OKC. That tied the record for the highest temp ever in the area. It is hard to breath in that heat. I can't imagine how tough it is to work a job outdoors in that heat.

Of course I can't imagine working outdoors in below zero temperature either. I am sure Pete can tell us.

When I get over heated all I have to do is sit down in the shade, with a drink and in a couple of mins I am back up and running, when I get cold it takes me a very long time to warm back up, and it usually involves a hot shower. I must be part catfish, I don't thermo-regulate down well at all

I think my e39 is part catfish too!

It crackled and popped to life like a cold ford flat-head with a single barrel carb, and was stiff for the first 20mins. -3 at The Saucy's this am.

Every winter I am reminded what a great choice getting rid of the El Camino's carburetor was. The throttle body fuel injection just flat works like a car is supposed to. I vividly remember sitting in my Elky on COLD days nursing the throttle trying to get it warm enough to even drive. Now I just get in and go.

That Electronic controlled Rochester Carb was a total POS that never did work right.

My first "car" was a CK2500 with TBI...unbelievably reliable.

35s on stock steelies, Headers, Flowmaster 40-series and an open air cleaner...I was a wicked highschooler

My first car was a 1960 VW bug with a massive 36 HP. I lived in Alabama back then so real cold weather was rare. I did have carb icing problems for a while. I had to yank the intake manifold and clean out the preheat tubes to get it to run better. It is just amazing what a decent rust free 1960 Bug sells for now.

Funny you say that, as I'd kill for a clean, low-mile CK2500...can't find one
