Boiled okra is yuckky. It gets all slimy. Pickled is OK is you like pickles. The number way it is served around here is deep fried as a side dish. No one even has to specify how it is served. It is always fried.

Picking okra off of the bushes is a horrible job. BTDT.

Gotta fly now.

Off to the East side of MI to my hometown to drop my nieces back to my sister and help my mom get her summer stuff out of the garage.

Chances are she has either BBQ pork steak or a beef roast waiting for me. You know, because she had it in the freezer. Sure, mom whatever you say.

You fellas play nice whilst I'm gone. I don't have a smartphone so I won't experience the witty banter until later.

Her flight just landed. Only about 7 hours overdue. Thanks United.

Jim, you are enough of a geek to know about about FlightAware. Get it!

Download the app to your phone or use the web site. Punch in the flight number and airline of any flight and it tracks where that airplane is, and the status. It shows an estimated time of arrival. If it is in the air it shows how fast it is moving. It give all the specs on that airplane. Model, serial number and such.

You can sit at home and wait for it to be on the way to your airport. Subtract your travel time to the airport and you can arrive at the airport just when she is landing.

It is one on the many apps that makes a smartphone worth every penny of the money.

It is always cool to see all the aircraft in the sky at any moment.
Just landed is cool too. It calculates arrival time and your time to airport with traffic and tells you when to leave!

Yea, that is great at airports you don't know. I am pretty sure I can figure out how to get to Will Rogers and how long. When I was picking up Mrs Carrera at the San Diego airport I had to figure out how to get there through the traffic and which terminal building she was coming into. That was back in 2007 and I did not have a smart phone. I had to use reading skills and common sense. It was a terrible time back in the olden days of no smart phones.

Was an okra farmer in my pre-early teens. Made a lot of money off pickin that itchy stuff every other day all summer long. Don't ever remember getting less than a bushel. Sold all I could grow for $3 a lb. but memory is kinda fuzzy on the price. Even sold it at the local grocery store.

Can't stand to eat the stuff though. Didn't like it before I started growing it. My first golden retriever loved to eat okra right off the plant.

Some water, cayenne and a microwave and he has hisself some chili.

Max has me beat weight wise in the Cobra as it is 2450# but it is sitting at 406/435 at the rear wheels.

I have enough friends and relatives that do or have lived in the south and south east to have picked up on the all y'all and fried okra (crispy on the outside, slimy on the inside) and cheese biscuits and real bbq and looks of fear and horror when it snows. Don't make me no nevermind came from a friend in Tennessee. I would have picked up more form a friend in Broken Arrow but I can't understand half of what he says. Funny since he moved there from WI in jr high school. I have to admit watching the barrel races at a bar was very entertaining down in the OK state and there were no horses involved.

I keep catching myself browsing the cheap boxsters on CL. I've heard rumor you can get them sub 2500lbs without too much hassle. That would be one helluva fun canyon carver. I just can't ditch the AC though.

You don't need A/C out there! It is a dry heat.

My old Spitfire had a fire under the dash late one night, on the freeway, in a town that was new to me. Before the days of cell phones and Internet. Alongside the highway, I had to rewire the car to have critical functions with what was left of the wiring harness. Yay, British!
