Anywhoo, I had a productive weekend all. Saturday: Finished wallpaper removal/wall prep and cut in the paint in new baby's room. After hanging all new doors with new hardware last December, I'd yet to install striker plates, so i sharpened the chisel and went to it. Then big party at the in-laws. Sunday: Went out for a coffee and early car show combo park visit (show at the park) with Mrs and Jr Sauce. Mowed and string trimmed the yard (currently running a 21" push for 1.25acres-good exercise), bought and planted some perennials to add some color to the new lanscaping, seeded/sowed/hayed about half acre of grass, cleaned the grill and went out for a burger and ice cream...

First day of summer vacation for the kids. They have been in the pool since 10am.
Storms coming this afternoon so the 911 will stay in the garage. We've been going to a local cruise night on Mondays. Mostly domestic stuff but some really nice vehicles anyway. No real plans but junior has a dentist appt this afternoon.

We had crappy weather most of the weekend. We got a new playset for the kids and started on it Saturday. It was warm and muggy and rained here and there. Sunday was hot and mid 90s for temp and humidity then it started storming about 11:00 again. The boy's soccer game has already been canceled due to standing water on the field. Not sure about the girl's softball game. She won'tbe playing anyway as she cut her big toe pretty deeply and can't get her cleats on.
We have been in the pool one time so far this year. Rick, when I lived in Dyersville I had neighbors downstairs that were similar to yours. He was taught how to wrench cars by the great state of Texas while incarcerated there and she was about 1/2 the gross of our motorcycle trailer. She had a tendency to go commando and usually wore sweats that were full of holes in all the wrong places. It was difficult to interact with the two of them because of her. You could never look her way for fear of a surprise. He wasn't so bad. It has finally stopped raining just now. For now. We had 3 inches last week. The corn is loving the heat and rain. No one else is.

BMW Forums, especially "bimmerforum" are completely useless.
The fact that I work on my own car is beyond about 95% of the "posters" in those forums. These people are clueless talking heads with little to detrimental advice about thier own cars...helps bring a whole new appreciation to PP Technical I'm trying to diagnose a drive shaft noise on my car, replaced the CV last week and the noise persists. Looks like it's going to have to be a new drive shaft as the concentric aluminum tubes are splined and apparently de-laminate causing the slightest gap and this wonderful metal on metal "tink" noise

Morning all
We're up early today. Sharyn's having vascular surgery today to repair the damage the DVT did to her leg, and they want her at the hospital early so we can spend at least half the day waiting in preop.

I will second that.
Few things are as much fun as waiting for the medical team to get ready. You probably don't want them to hurry.

3rd it.
As long as they get in there early with the pre-surgery pain shot. Then you don't care how long it takes.

I'm jealous (technically envious), too.
I drove the 930 to work on Friday (getting in the spirit for this weekend's race), and as I pulled into the parking garage I passed by someone with a brand spanking new GT3 with dealer plates. Holy scheiss--not even in my dreams do I have the kind of coin to buy one of those.

Sharyn's in recovery - haven't seen her yet and no bad news so far. I think it went well. I also think we're in for a couple of weeks of pain and me helping with her speedy recovery.

Woohoo! Glad it went well Jeff!
Evening guys. Up writing a contract while the kiddos sleep. Played on the beach in the bay all day today. Back at it tomorrow. Cloudy and low 70s here in San Diego, got word that it was 113 in Phoenix and we are trying to work out which organs we'd have to sell to be able to just stay here. |
