Hey fellas!

We are going to splurge and go to dinner in my hometown tonight. It's an hour drive but worth it to be able to get together. I just hope they are not out of Stella Artois like last weekend. Had to settle for a Heineken.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Whew. I got up at at crack of 8:00 am and went to the garage. The heater control valve on the elky decided to start leaking big time. It timed the failure at a good point, I was on the way home. The leak was big and made a nice mess. We got a new valve on the way to dinner last night. It is a super simple swap. Done.

Then I mowed the yard and trimmed one tree. Now it is relax time and watch the F1 qualifying.

I washed some cars today, That was fun. Beth had left the green hose ut in the yard and I mowed the end off of it along with the sprayer, no biggie. I trip on down to the local hardware store and rush in, grab a repair end, a new nozzle and another hose, I figured it would be easier to wash the cars in the driveway than the front yard so I grab a roll of hose and yeah this has some weight, must be a good one. I get home, fix the old hose, grab the new one and unwrap it, hold one end and sling it down through the yard to unroll it. I found out why it was so heavy.....................it's 125 feet long. I now have a long hose

I know.

Luckily, they had Stella on tap tonight. Goes great with their English style fish and chips.

Ended up at my mom's and then edged the driveway for her. All in all it was a great evening(except for the kids bickering the last half hour home).

I told them we didn't DARE to fight with each other in the car when I was a kid. My Dad threatened to pull over several times but never did. We weren't sure what would happen but didn't want to find out. And we listened to HIS radio station choice.

Different times, I guess.

The back seat of my parents cars had an imaginary line that I never crossed because my older brother would hit the body part that invaded his side. No seat belts back then. The worst was when both of my parents smoked and the car looked like a smoke bomb went off. My brother and I would call a truce and end up sucking air from under the seats. We had our heads on the floor trying to get air.

Shame you can't teach the fear of punishment to kids any more.

I sure I posted how I taught my 14 yo nephew why spanking works.

You did Richard and it seemed to work for him.

Our kids are good for the most part. It was a long day for them so we took that into consideration. My daughter is already asleep on the couch. Now, to get the boy to go to sleep.

A few shots of whiskey should put him to sleep.

Evening all.

Yard work for me this morning, followed by golf this arvo. I love these mid 30s (Celsius) winter days.

Bloody fruit flies are back already but.

Just because I taught him why spanking works does not mean he learned the lessons of respecting authority and fear of bad consequences.
