Or the act described in "taking her to bed"

My friend that worked on the offshore rig said on his first barge ride out to the rig they stuffed the new workers in a bunk room and told them to get some sleep, it would be a while before they need to be up. He said he was sound asleep and all of a sudden he thought the ship had smashed into something like an aircraft carrier. The noise was deafening and he jumped out of bed and started running away from that bunk room. As soon as he was in the hall all the old timers were laughing at him and his reaction.

They had deliberately put him in the room right below the anchor chain. When the anchor drops the chain with each link the weight of a small car goes flying down and makes a lot of noise.

He loved the paycheck but was real happy to be out of that job.

Rick you need to come out to AZ. Still can't get the porsche to start.

Last week I dropped in a new battery, old one was farked. Spun it over by hand enough times to get the timing marks lined up and they looked good. Tried it and it started right up and ran for about 20seconds before dying and not restarting.

As I remember 944s use a DME much like the 911 of the era. Have you checked the two flywheel sensors? Do you know if the fuel pump continues to run? The old nemesis DME relay can cause problems.

When my car had running problems it all came down the dang coil.

Have you tried jiggling the flux capacitor?

So it must have two flywheel sensors and similar fuel pump operation to a 911. I know it has a coil (duh) so it is still a fairly simple but complex system.

Sid, hold your tongue to the left when you crank it. It needs body English just like bowling.

I've swapped the moronic DME out with a known good one. I've swapped the fuel relay out with a new one. It's getting correct pressure at the fuel rail, and signal at the injectors. Making spark and seems to be in time. The sensors on the crankshaft are new as of 2 years ago and the tach is bouncing which indicates they are good.

My neighbor is suspect of the MAF or the TPS. But since it died so suddenly, I'm not sure.

It sounds like you're at the point of giving anything and everything a go. I'd be surprised too, but you never know.

I had a vacuum leak that was shutting me down but it would restart so not exactly the same. And I had a ground fault that would not allow me to start, but if it did start then it would keep running. So again, not the same. It sounds like a bloody frustrating fault. It's gunna be one of three things; spark, fuel or air. It sounds like you've already eliminated two of the three.

Morning all.

Bloody Sunday already. Weekends are not long enough.
