My oldest brother gave his wife a washing machine one year for Christmas. Can't imagine why he is divorced.

It was in the 50s on Saturday here but hazy. We took the RC trainer out to fly since it was relatively calm but it was hard to see when it got up very high so it was a short day. Found out it is difficult to land. Pull the throttle off and it flies like a sailplane and doesn't want to come down. Since we land in the drainage field we use the skids instead of the landing gear. Broke the cowl on it. Got it glued and taped read to go again. Will probably order a spare.

Rained the rest of the weekend and warm. 61* Sunday morning. Rain in the evening through this morning. Windy too again. Glad it wasn't snow. Would have been 2.5 feet of the stuff.

Rick, must not be one of those CA approved spoons with the micro-stamping.

Hope everyone's Monday is going well for a Monday. Have Wednesday off.

This is why I like the idea of the foam board planes... Build a whole new one for $1 and a little time!

It is the receiver that is special. Plus, it is a Corsair. There is no cooler prop plane than the Corsair. I can just see the cowl getting beat up until we find a place with short grass to fly. I would fly out of the yard but we have too many maple trees and there is a power pole that terminates a power line over one of the driveways. Maybe as I get better I can land on the other drive with the gear. Another advantage, this one can handle some wind.

Oh, we have some foam board. Made some GI Joe stuff for the boy with it. I have two other radios I thought about putting in something with an electric motor similar to what Flite Test has. One is a 4 channel the other is a 5 channel. Maybe with a KF airfoil on it.

chop the power on a Corsair and it should drop like a rock. The big ones have a 1:1 glide ratio.

The trainer is closer to 10 to 1 as it is pretty light for the wing size and the prop windmill pretty easily. Needs some flaps or I need to plan ahead a lot more during the approach.

You don't spin a real one either.

Both kids flew it. The 6 year old was too scared he was going to lose sight of it in the fog and the 13 year old got bored but I told her she cant do loos and rolls until she gets the basics. She decided it wasn't too bad then. Next time she will fly in intermediate mode since she has flown tethered with another radio and experienced flyer. Beginner mode messed her up a little. She was expecting it to stay banked and beginner mode goes to straight and level if you let go of the sticks.

Flies great at half throttle and goes pretty good at full throttle. We had no gear so it was pretty clean and didn't like to slow down.

One thing the video doesn't show. The landing at the end with the plates on the wings instead of gear. The sound it makes when it lands is not a gentle whiff into the grass. At least not in our experience. Other than that, it is just like the video. No one had to use the safe button but I was the only one that flew in experienced mode. I did because I am a guy and that is what guys do. It is docile on low rates and you keep the speed up.

I am working on scanning some stuff we flew for a client. They want some big ol prints for a wall in the lobby of a fancy building. It will be a print 15x15 feet or so. They have not figured out the exact size they want. Last time it was 12x12 and they want it bigger.

We shot it with our 9x9 inch film camera and scanned it at 10 microns. It is 1.53 Gig as a Tif file and it is the equivalent of a 552 Megapixel camera.

Once we get the client to pick which of the 4 images they like the best I will sneak on part of it on the thread.

It is something fun and different.

Nope, it is a airport & shipping port.

It is a cool airport in that right along side the concrete runway is a ditch full of water to land a seaplane on. Really!
