Back in the 90s we didn't have the options we have today on cars and trucks. I thought about doing a multilink in the rear like Losi had but I ended up doing something lighter and less complex that still gave me the camber curve I needed. The only other real issue was on the banked concrete oval. I had wings on the chassis behind the wheels for the body mounts and it would grind the wings down as they would drag. Had to run pretty everything pretty stiff on that track.
One of the guys in the club had $5000 invested in his car. Until his wife found out.

I got out of R/C planes before the radios switched to bind n fly. All my heli's except for the one i can't fly yet came with those little game controller radios. The one I can't fly yet came with a Spectrum. It is a little collective pitch Heli. The rest are fixed pitch. Got it way before skills. The small CP helis are better now.
My CP is the only one that doesn't need repaired to fly...But if I fly it just once that will most likely change, LOL. Now the big thing is First Person Video Racing Drones. Have a Tamaya 1/10th R/C Boxster Kit, Have had all the stuff for years, even an extra body, but haven't put it together. Tried to sell in on the Boxster boards after I got rid of my actual Boxster, but nobody was interested. Everything costed $200 when I got it.

I tended to like to build and run my own stuff but I have driven for other guys. One guy was so meticulous that he would pull everything down and clean, lube, rebuild after every weekend. I seldom messed with rebuilding the shocks unless I was changing oil or valves. His got new O rings and oil. He used to be crew chief on a drag car in the 60's so I guess I understand where he is coming from.

Tamiya makes some awesome scale kits. I wanted a Bruiser for the longest time but still can't afford one.

There were quite a number of guys into RC that would cash their paychecks at the hobby shops so their wifes would not find out how much they really made.
One guy even lost a plane kit. He would hurry home with stuff and hide it in the insulation in his attic. Don't understand how explained when they appeared later. Maybe he bought her something first. He hid one kit and never found it. We think his wife did. My nephew had the best wife money relationship I've heard of. She was overspending. They each got their own accounts without the other's name. They sat down and figured who was responsible for what bills and split the extra. Any checks were deposited to my nephews account and he would write is wife her part of the check. This way if either over spent and didn't pay a bill they ran out of whatever that person was responsible for, ie food, gas to get around, lights etc. Told me she quit overspending by not buying herself clothes. Said they only went without food for two days one month and never got anything she was responsible for turned off.

I have some questions. Why do all the spoons on TV rattle so much. Whether they pull out a revolver or s sniper spoon they rattle like there are loose parts inside. Number 2: Why on earth do they not do a little bit of training (OK, the actors on Numb3rs did FBI training and did OK) in weapons handling. Especially when they are some supposed special forces group. We saw one the other day and my daughter even laughed because if they had been firing live weapons they would have perforated the head of the guy in front of them. You constantly see these "shooters" with their finger wrapped around the trigger to the second knuckle.
Number 3: Why is it so many bands from the 60s and 70s have male lead singers that sang in such high keys? Number 4: Why did I start playing a song from Hootie and the Blowfish last week before music practice? I know, shame almost prevented me asking that last one, but if I can't confess to you all, who can I?

1. they are toys.
2. training costs money for extras that will not be here next week. 3. Drugs 4. life has stressed you to the point of needing training and drugs to cope with songs like that. I'll send you a bill.

Except the sound effects are put in post production. Even my airsoft rifle doesn't rattle like that.
I was talking about the regulars in the show. Most likely. See #3. Pete, sounds like our winter. Very strange. We have had lots of rain this winter.

But, from what I have read about Alice Springs, that picture was taken in the dead of winter. Not quite like Coober Pedy, but still warm in the summer.

Back from the recyclers
My cans brought $11.60. The place is 6.7 miles away and 80% interstate to and from. Assuming 14 miles round trip for the trip and getting a couple of tacos at Fuzzy's I pretty much came out with free lunch. ![]() The price of aluminum is down for sure. I used to get almost 20 bucks for that much. I never got into RC cars, I prefer full size cars on the track. One lap at Laguna Seca is way more fun that running a RC car around any track. I had an hour of track time at Laguna Seca. Hey Pete, we will be coming up. I can inspect the clothes you bought then. ![]() We will be in Yankee land likely the week before Parade. I want to visit Seahawk and even Rick if he still lives in VA by then.

Answers for men. (provides solutions or jokes)
1. Foleys are paid to ADD sound effects. A lot of cars sound like motor bikes too. 2. Director made them do it. No matter what they are trained to do. 3. Tight pants, they all wore tight pants. 4. Uh, because you like the song? Answers for women. (just agrees) 1. I know, they are noisy aren't they. 2. Yeah, they should learn to be more safe. 3. The do sing high, it's weird. 4. What were you thinking? For psychiatrist answer use answers for women then add "How does that make you feel?" Politicians answer. 1 & 2. All guns and the use of them will be outlawed in all forms of media. They promote violence in our country. 3 & 4. All rock music will be replaced with elevator tunes and NO SINGING! It perverts the morals of our youth. Protagonist answer. 1. Noisy guns make them seem more formidable and strikes fear in the targets. 2. Criminals that learn from media will be more apt to hurt themselves rather than their victims. 3. Vocal range is prized among actual singers and they want to show it off. 4. Hootie and the blowfish are great! What are you ashamed of?

Not really.
Flyboys was another movie I had a hard time with. The director was going on about how realistic he wanted the flying to be and then shows the old planed flying with full rudder deflection back and forth and no yaw movement.

The plane's motor wasn't running and it was not moving?
Used to love doing flat spins with motor and rudder and zero speed. If you got enough motor you can even climb in a flat spin.
