Pepper just said "I want out" at the back door instead of just sitting there, whining, or barking.

Been trying to get her retrained since I left her with that trainer in Nov. The trainer just let here out when she sat at the door and untrained her saying "I want out".

Pete, the hitch is still there. I pulled the ball so I wouldn't get dirty brushing up against it.

The important part is you two and the attack schnauzer arrived safe. The rest is just a big pain but not the end of the world.

We really enjoyed lunch with you two and Richard. I home the food allergies were not an issue. Relax and enjoy a month of Saturday's.

Thanks Glen. You're exactly right. Also, Lu was good with the food she ate the other day.

Sid, our drive today was easy, albeit a bit longer than I thought it would be. Lu saw her first road runner and was completely delighted seeing it quickly run across the highway. The Imperial Dunes looks awesome, and seeing mountains That looked like they were huge piles of rubble was impressive. From San Diego up to the OC, everyone was hauling ass. I didn't want to be that guy holding up everyone else.

And btw, we need to work on your definition of clapped out, your Jetta doesn't look too bad to me! I've always had a soft spot for that mk4 gli!

I did get the yard mowed yesterday. Today I think I may have a real blast and take the seat out of the 911 and replace the 4 way seat switch. I tried cleaner on the switch recently and that was a waste of time.
Getting the bolts out is easy. Lifting the heavy seat out without tearing anything up or scratching paint is a bit more challenging. The most frustrating part is getting the backing plate flat thing that the bolts thread into is annoying and frustrating.

On my white 952 took the seat switch out, took it apart, cleaned everything, put it back together and reinstalled. Very tedious bordering on infuriating with the springs and little ball bearings inside. It did fix it. Too bad it was only for a few months, ended up replacing it and no more problems with THAT seat switch.

Replaced the one on the passenger side of the GTS, should be good to go for another 18-20 years. Spraying with cleaner only helped until the next time you actually needed to adjust the seat.

Is yours the passenger side? Interestingly I've only had problems with the passenger seat.

Probably didn't have problems with the seat switches on my black 951 because I replaced the seats with 951 sport seats, and then 968 sport seats. The 968 sport seat fit me better, it was more comfortable. The original seats were manual, but the wiring and plugs were there to use on the electric ones.

The switch is the drivers side. The passenger side is just manual. The part not working is the seat back lumbar adjustment. It is nice to adjust it on long trips.

Just be glad your car doesn't have airbags and occupancy sensors in the seats glen! You should see what some guys go through to swap aftermarket seats into newer cars!

When I had butt pain problems with the stock seat in my Passat, VW rep told me they couldn't put in an aftermarket seat because the seat controls were integrated with the ECU. They wouldn't even let me have the stock seats redone to fit better by and automotive upholsterer. Would have been happy with the car if it wasn't a literal pain in the butt to drive. VW ended up buying the car back from me.

Neither my 928 or my Cayenne have any seat pain. Have driven both on long trips spending a whole day driving without any pain or discomfort. Could drive the Rover on short trips, groceries, etc.. But if I drove it to Moore and back, just under an hour round trip, my butt would start hurting.

Friend bought a new Kia Soul. Took it on a trip to Vegas. Said both he and his wife were sitting on pillows before they left the state. He still drives the car and bought a second one for his wife. Personally, life is too short, I would find a car that doesn't hurt to take a trip in without sitting on a pillow.

At the time my butt nerves were aggravated the most I drove every sedan available new and used. The only sedans I could drive without pain was the Volvo and a the BMW if the BMW was equipped with their sport seats. It was sad because I found a great deal on a Saab turbo that had been hopped up and was really nice, and another on a hopped up Audi S4 that was FAST, but they both made my butt hurt. Ended up pitting the Volvo dealership against the BMW dealership over who could give me the best deal on a 3 year lease, S40 vs 3 series. BMW beat out Volvo by $30 a month. Later I upgraded the BMW lease when I found the X3 had the same sport seats and was only $5 a month more.
