Actually, I'm a little worried why I thought of that, then moments later thought of Azzys birthday?

Happy birthday Azzy.

Jeff, we would be worried if you hadn't gone there (meat pounding, not Azzy).

Last night for softball this season and it is a double header. At least it isn't in the 90s today as it has been. We left the solar cover off the pool since the water was quite warm. My wife thought is was a little cool yet but I said I should not be sweating while I am in the pool. Then again, my wife thinks 125* showers are cool as well while I feel like a lobster getting prepped for a meal.

Grrrrr Mail Chimp for not keeping themselves off the spam blocking lists. Even found an RBL blocking list you can add to your anti-spam software that blocks all the 400 domains that Mail Chimp uses. One server admin said he was getting 200 different spam messages a day from Mail Chimp accounts. And Mail Chimp won't do anything about it. The spammers have basically ruined Mail Chimp.

I don't know how you can do email distribution or opt-in email lists without paying for and running your own server. And I don't know of any email list software that does the marketing campaign management tracking stuff like Mail Chimp either. They are doing stuff like the spammers, they can tell if recipients open the email, and they have APIs that can track on your web site if someone came from a link in one of their emails. That's what spammers do!

Holy Crap...Fooey on clicking links in spam...NEVER OPEN SPAM!! By just doing that they know you are reading their email!

Morning again

We're buggering off in the morning down to Ayres Rock to say g'day to my mini-me. I filled the old bus with fire water this evening, first drop of fuel in her since returning from our bush trip a few weeks back. So I got to do an economy check. Bear in mind that the old girl is 18yo, 3.4L V6 petrol donk, with 230k (km) on the clock, and she was chockablock loaded at around 3000kg. She came in at 15.5L/100km. Bloody chuffed with that result.

After the first dozen road trips in my 911 I quit keeping track of gas purchases and gas mileage. It never changed much for the highway driving. I have seen it as high as 29 MPG coming back from Colorado to Oklahoma. It is all downhill so not a real fair measure. The worst was 10.5 for the 1/2 tank I used on Lowe's Super speedway in Charlotte, NC. It is amazing how much gas get used running the engine wide open for an hour of track time.

TGIF and Happy birthday Azzy.

American measurements that's 15.17 miles per gallon. That's 1 mpg better than what either the Cayenne or 928 get city driving according to their respective computers with their V8s and my lead filled right foot. It's also about what I got on the Range Rover after I took the luggage rack off the top. That rack costed a couple of miles per gallon.

My full size GMC Jimmy got 13 mpg with the 32in tires and 4 inch lift when I got it with the 5L V8. After putting in the hot rodded 6.5L it actually bumped the gas mileage up to 19mpg and it didn't matter city, hwy, or off road.

No doubt the mass Jeff hauled around, and a luggage rack, and the fact he was mostly on dirt roads with off road tires all hurt the gas mileage. Or is the gas kilometers? If he is not measuring it in miles he can't have gas mileage.

The Grand Cherokee we bought a few years back was getting about 18 per gallon. It was a nice vehicle but with the wife driving it 70 miles round trip 5 days a week it was just ridiculous expensive especially when gas was close to $4 per gallon.

Our Honda is still getting over 25 per gallon with mostly city style driving. It's almost 10 years old, too.

Jeff- I watched the first Mad Max movie the other night and thought of you.

Guy at work had a Grand Cherokee. He got one of the first Prius hybrids. He drove far enough to work the money he saved on gas paid both the payment and insurance on the Prius. He called it his free car.

That it is Richard!

Woke up to the overpowering smell skunk today. Apparently, the boy let the dog out in the night and didn't attach his lead. Dog chases skunk, skunk wins. We gave him a bath and knocked the smell down but now he is going to shed even worse. I can't win.

Wife may be getting a company car as future plans include her visiting other plants to help with HR issues.

She brought up the Pelican 911 for sale again this week. I believe she wants it more than I do.

OOHHHH ! I've been through that too many times. One time we were camping in the middle of the night at a remote camp site.....spent a 1/2 hour washing the dog under an outdoor faucet with dawn dish soap and flashlights.

My last golden was the worst. Not only did she shed a lot regularly, twice a year she would lose her entire undercoat. She did that until I got her fixed, then she stopped shedding completely. Had to start taking her to the groomers to thin her undercoat or it would get all matted up.

The only think I've seen that was worse was a friend's Chow that lost ALL it's hair in chunks.

He peed on the carpet upstairs as well. My wife was kind enough to step in it so I didn't have to. She put towels down before leaving for work.

I think a new carpet cleaner is going to be on my list. I fixed it enough times and it just isn't working well any longer. It's probably 14 years old so I guess I shouldn't complain.
