No offense, of course.

Won't say anything about Glen wearing a jumper like that and not having any kids. Most likely completely unrelated.

Man, with my Brother all-in-one color laser dying yesterday and the Cannon I got to replace DOA and having to haul it back and get replaced...It got too hot to be carrying and moving heavy printers yesterday. AND I am freaking out of shape after the year being bedfast with my foor. Going to have to start working out!

The guy I work with has such a typical mom, or maybe she is just similar to what my mom would have done.

She went to Sam's and bought the huge roll of paper towels but she was not paying close attention. She got the giant double rolls and they are full sheets. She wanted the ones with 1/2 sheet perforations. Our chief pilot went on a rant one day on how he hates the 1/2 sheet paper towels and prefers the full sheet rolls. I can't care less but I think the 1/2 sheet ones are handy and less wasteful.

We had just bought a package of the paper towels for here at the office. He said "Mom, I have a simple plan, I will bring the new package of 1/2 sheet paper towels we bought and swap them with your full sheet paper towels".

That is pretty simple, do nothing and just swap the packages. Done deal. So off he goes to his mom's house to swap the packages. He comes back cussing.

His mom decided that somehow he wanted her to go back to Sam's and swap the packages there and while she was there she bought a second package for him since he would need some. So now he is at his mom's house in a Miata and was wanting to do a simple swap. Instead he has to bring back the package of 1/2 paper towels and he has a second huge package of paper towels and no place to put them in the car. He had to break open the package and stuff individual rolls of paper towels to get them to his house and bring back the giant package to the office.

That is so like what my mom would have done. I do miss my mom.

If that would have been my Mom it would have been an all day event with several other places to stop and get or do things because you have to make all your trips at once. A Miata would never do. When I had my Boxster we had to take her Crown Vic on any of her errands!

Anybody want a 70lb ungainly Brother color laser printer/scanner/copier/fax. It needs serviced to repair a clip that holds the red toner and cleanned real good.

Will let it go for free, or will haul it to Staples so they can recycle it.

The new Cannon was only $300, but have not actually got one hooked up configured and working yet.

Same here for my Mom. We've tried to get her paying store bills by mail but she insists on driving to each local store to pay in person. It must be their generation. She doesn't have a smart phone or a computer so online stuff isn't even possible. She still gets dressed up to run errands.

My MIL is 85 and is fairly up to date on electronics because of my wife and with my help. She has a iPhone 6S, iPad Air and a home computer I built (or overbuilt) with a mirrored hard drive and 16 Gig of RAM and a i7 CPU. He uses her iPad constantly and is finally using texting properly.

She uses Quicken and can download her checking account from her bank and pay bills online. She still will not go to automatic bill pay for the utilities. She wants to make those payments with a check but she does mail it. I hate messing with any of that. All my utilities are just set up to automatically pay on the due date. All except AT&T that is.

I don't trust AT&T at all. One month I opened my bill and it was over $800. It took me over two years to get that straightened out. It was 100% thier fault and it took over a year and several analog paper letters and several hours on the phone to finally find a manager smart enough to even understand the issue, and fix it. Once I talked to her it was fixed in 5 minutes. Dozens of other AT&T employees were simply not intelligent enough to grasp the issue.

Surely makes you lose your mind..

My FIL won $1000 at the casino last night. He gave my wife back the $20 she spent. Who knows how much he spent to win, though. Knowing him, it probably wasn't much.

My Mom didn't do anything on the computer and could barely use our cordless phones.

She insisted on paying the electric bill to help out with the house. Let her watch me set it up to auto pay. She was okay with it, but she checked her bank statement every month to make sure I didn't start paying it myself.

She also insisted she paying every other time at the grocery store. So much so if I showed up with groceries and it was her turn, she would grab the receipt and pay me for it. That paying her part was so ingrained she kept up with it until she passed despite all the other stuff she forgot how to do.

Yea, the funniest thing is if we buy something for the MIL she wants to pay me back to the penny.

Good * all.

Two quick questions.
1. Outlook 2013 keeps corrupting the profile when the user tries to view yay/nay availability on another persons calendar. The other persons calendar works fine for everyone else that has tried it.

2. What would be a couple challenging situations for a mid-level help desk tech with 7 years experience? I know, he should be a senior tech at that level of experience, but lets go with intermediate level. I need a couple that would be challenging but doable. I have one related to the above question but only in the more general sense which involves some logic skills but is certainly doable. Looking for the type of question that would be passed from an entry level tech to this tech to resolve.

We are headed west soon. Mom is worried that Yellowstone will blow up while we are there. I told my daughter if it does we will have a spectacular view of the end of the world. She laughed and said true that.
