I buddy came over and wanted to use my lift. Of course that means the garage ans some tools. He wanted to change the fluid in the rear end and the transmission. He brought his own drain buckets and fluids. It went pretty fast and I had to provide a 24 mm wrench for the drain plugs. He was done pretty fast with just one bop on his head on the lift. The lift was not damaged.

After he left I put the 911 over there. On the trip to Yankee land the only problem I had was the cruise control quit. I attacked that today. It appears to be the switch on the clutch pedal. Now I have to find that stupid switch. Not the new one, the one on the car. That sucker is hidden in the pedal box somewhere. I am off to the technical forum to find some help finding that switch and how to get it out.

My wife and I loaded up the pickup truck with crap (landscaping concrete borders, concrete pavers, rotted/rusted out yard tools, broken-ass patio umbrella, old toilets from the house remodel) and went to the dump. I love going to the dump! And amazingly, our landfill has a great ocean view. Way better than our house has.

When over ta the Home Deepot and got me a Torx driver set to get me a #8 T so I could swap out them fancy LED bubs a lighten up the license plate with reguler ol bubs. Don't need non o them fancy lighty thangs makin my license plate real bright so poleice can read it better like. Only need that lit enough ta be legal.

Just got back. Man, the drive back always seems much longer than the one there.

Good steak but chintzy silverware at the restaurant. Sister thinks it's so people won't steal it. The Irish tavern we go to there has really nice, heavy silverware. I know, it's an odd thing to complain about but hey, ya gotta have somethin'. Had to have a Labatt's because they don't carry Stella. Jeez, what a letdown.


It was actually a nice dinner with family celebrating my BIL's birfday. back when he had his surgery we weren't sure he would see it. I had to drive my Mom home cause she can't see very well at night. I turned the traction control off on her Malibu and did a dead launch. Eh, it's not hot rod.

Maybe it would feel better if you put some whitening tooth paste or some nipple lube on those skin zippers.

If that doesn't work I've got some lidocaine patches and topical anesthetic gel for pain relief.

One of the things they gave me to put on my foot to promote healing was Honey. Yep, just plain old pure honey.

Another thing was a cream with oak bark in it. It kept it from scabbing which helped it seal the open wound properly and heal faster. Think it was called Amerigel or something like that.

Ok, on a whim yesterday, and not a good one, I got a frozen pizza, heated it up, and shared eating it with Pepper. Why is it that all frozen pizzas have that funky frozen pizza taste? Is it preservatives?

I love a cheap Totinos frozen pizza now and again.


Got the struts done on the truck today. No injuries and the only casualty was my 21mm impact socket that cracked. The DS strut was shot as in absolutely NO resistance. The PS wasn't as bad but still used up.

Total cost for parts was $368.

That's a little more than half price for one corner of the Cayenne with the air suspension and adjustable shocks. But it sure rides nice.

Sure hope I don't need one of those. Going to find out if I need just brake pads, or pads and rotors. Probably more than that since the pedal is still spongy after replacing a leaking booster vacuum line. Whatever it is it is something expensive because I am getting the BRAKE light but no messages from the computer like pads or fluid pressure. It's going to be a $15K car if this keeps up. Glad I only spent 10K on it.

Oh the turn signal doesn't tick and there is no seat belt, or left key in, or left lights on warning buzzers. The replacement speaker from a junk yard is $29 shipped. If I go to a dealer, they want to replace the whole instrument cluster for $1500 including labor. Yikes, for just a speaker! Maybe if I could also get the replacement cluster with white gauge faces? Need to get in there and make sure someone didn't just unplug the darn thing to turn off the seat belt warning buzzer. With all the cheap LED lighting everywhere I just don't know.

There is some weird things too. It looks like someone has removed the driver's seat. I know the battery is under there, but there is a way to get to the battery by just tilting back the seat and not removing it. The trim covering the seat rails was not installed properly and a couple of plugs for the covers are missing. Not having any luck finding the plugs online. May have to get a part number and start calling around. Did find a complete set of the rail covers without the plugs (4 pieces) for $25 so those plugs should be pretty cheap. Found a quarter between the seat and center console checking it out.

Did fix something for cheap yesterday. The ashtrays on both back doors had a coating of glue that used to hold leather trim on them. It cleaned right off with some rubbing alcohol and luckily the plastic underneath is close enough to the leather color you can't tell. Looks so much better than that coating of gray sticky glue.

Found the jack and tool kit that goes with it from a dismantler is $200. It's missing the jack and about half the tools including the lug wrench.

Sidney, Once I get everything working properly I will order those euro side lights from you.

Did they bleed the brakes when you took it in?

Of course not. Don't even think they even checked to see how the pedal felt. They were just trying to get all the warnings taken care off.
I think there is something weird going on because there is like an air gushing noise from the pedal when I first hit the brakes and the first few times I pump the pedal. Wonder if there is a vacuum or air line going the to pedal?

I took a stab at getting to the clutch switch for the cruise control adjusted and checked. I got down to the gas pedal removed, the pedal floor board removed and down to the switch. I guess I am too fat and old to get to the switch. I buttoned it all back up and went for a drive. The car ran great.
I stopped for gas and the car would not start. The starter spun fast but no spark. Cussing did not fix it but I felt better.
I walked the three blocks home, got the Elky and some tools and drove back and replaced the DME relay. It started but was not running quite right. I started home and the engine died but would restart. I coasted up the driveway and managed to get back into the garage. Mrs Carrera drove me back down and I got the Elky home.
The problem was the coil. I replaced the coil with the spare I have.
Cured. Yea.

I loved the air suspension on the Jag.......and hated it.
The shocks were right at $700 for rebuilt and the pump was ~$300 rebuilt.
And, because I didn't have the fancy computer to reset everything, you had to jack it up until the wheel was off the ground, then disconnect the battery and replace the shock, then reconnect the battery and turn the car on for several minutes with the wheel still in the air so that the height calibration would be correct....damn it was smooth though.
