Jeez! 12hrs, two red eye flights, foreign busy city, steering wheel on the wrong side - stress levels through the roof.

It's Morning.
Hope all the Daylight Saving observers make it to work on time today! Not sure why we have to have the sun go down after 8pm in the summer. Only thing I can think of is kids not getting up a 5am with the sun so parents can sleep a little later. They claim it is to save money, but in most places the average savings is less than .003% One state that started observing DST in 2007, Their energy usage went up 2% to 4%. Farmers claim DST makes them up to 25% less productive. The only positive thing I could find was that kids are more active in areas observing DST.

Morning all. I am back to driving to work in the dark. Oh well.
At least now I have time after work to wash my car and not have to rush. So Azzy is getting her rear end fixed up and it caused her pockets to bleed? I guess the good upgrade parts are expensive. ![]() The Nephew is not going to work for Coors, his is in construction and the city of Denver suburbs are growing out in Golden. He did not want to live in Denver city limits and fight the heavy traffic. He is hoping Golden will be a good balance of traffic. He has never seen real snow capped mountains before. Driving out through New Mexico they have a lot of old volcanoes and black lava in the fields. All that was new to him. Now he just has to get used to high altitude all the time.

Since we observe DST for 7 months, why not just make that the standard time and quit monkeying with the clocks?
The timezones were originally set up so GMT was 0 or noon with the sun at it's highest point. The rest of the time zone were set after that for nautical navigation. It wasn't adopted for land lubbers until the use of railroads. Seems to me with the widespread use of GPS for navigation and not astral observation maybe they should re-evaluate the time zones so you don't have to keep changing the clock for whatever reasons.

It is real simple.
Humans do most of the activity in daylight hours and DST helps us do that. In China they don't do daylight saving and the entire country is one time zone. Parts of China have midnight and still daylight and they are not up in the arctic circle. That is the other extreme. With DST most of summer we get up and go to school or work or play in daylight hours. Without DST we would sleep away a couple of hours of daylight and have short afternoons. With DST even in March we will have daylight until 7:36 here today. In another few weeks we will be back to daylight for the morning commute. In the dead of summer sunset is after 9:00 PM so much activity can be done without electric lights. We save a lot of energy. It really is a logical thing but many people that can't change "body time" hate it. Normal people adjust in no time and get on with life in the daylight.

But they done studies and DST longer evening sunlight saving lots of electricity is just not true.
A/C, Fridge, Stove, Water Heater don't care what the time on the clock is. People cook and eat their evening meals with their lights on whether it's light or dark out. People watch TV and play computer games of an evening whether it's light or dark out. People turn their lights on to do things of an evening inside whether it's light out or not.

I'm in favor of dumping this semiannual effing around with the clocks. Now that we're on DST, let's just leave it this way.
Oh yeah, Hola, y'all.

I'm in!
Jim, nice pics and it is great to see them in different colors. We went to some ice races since my cousin was racing. Sounds like next year he will be one of the company managers. Sid, they had drift trikes with motors good for 50mph. Just sayin'. This is him, in the middle with with short sleeve shirt.

He has always been good in regards to getting pictures with the race girls.
He let Jacob sit on his quad and Jacob wanted a picture with him so he told Chuckie to get on back at which Chuckie joked, this will be a first.

We have an employee meeting once a month. Since we currently have over 600 employees they have to break the meetings up into 4 separate groups. They have been changing which departments go to which meeting. Today they've tried to revise this month's meeting assignments 3 times so far. They keep including at least two departments in more than one meeting. The last iteration is exactly the same as last months schedule. I think they just gave up.
Each week I get an Excel spread sheet of all the current employees from the HR department. It includes their department and which shift they work. I put the list in a database and update it with exports from Office365 and Adobe to include what licenses for email, office, crm, creative apps, etc. are being used and where for out department. I could easily make a report in my database to list how many users are in each department and what shift. Then it would be pretty easy to choose the meeting assignments to make sure the employees were distributed equally between the meetings. My guess they are trying to use Excel to do the job of a database.
