After driving the Cayenne there are some really glaring problems with the 928.
The ignition is on the right hand side on the 928. Keep grabbing on the left to pull the key. The window buttons are on the center console on the 928. Keep grabbing for the door handle to roll the window up or down. Sure drives, sounds, and smeolls good though. The longer I drive it the more difficult it is to keep the revs down. Have to keep telling myself to just drive like it's a slow econobox or something.

It is funny the cues dogs pick up from us. Back when I drove to work I usually worked from 7:00 AM to 4:15 or 4:20 with a long lunch. I got home about 4:30 and fed the dogs. So coming in from the garage in the afternoon means feeding time to them. They will start hanging out in my office in the afternoon like they are willing me to feed them.
Normally the mail is delivered about 4:30 PM, so I go get the mail and then feed the dogs. Today the mail was delivered at 2:30 and I happened to hear the truck roll by so I went and got the mail and came back to my office. The dogs are pretty sure, if I got the mail, it is time to feed them. I just make em wait until close to 4:30 when it is convenient for me. Yesterday when I had to get up freaking stupid early to get my partner to the airport Reuben (the male) figured it was bonus day and he was ready to eat. He is always ready to eat. The female did not even get out of bed.

![]() I guess you mean driver's license. Wow, this page has an ad for the local Porsche dealer. I like my paid for cars and I have not made a car payment in this millennium, I want to continue that streak until at least 3,001.

That's is more than the lease was on the new 2001 BoxsterS.
Must have had a lot more buying power back then. Could afford the Boxster lease no problem. Today, 16 years later not so much. Even though the 928 was a 1994 I had a collector car lease on it that was a bunch cheaper than a loan and paid off quicker to boot. Now the silly thing is not only paid off it has more than doubled in value. Driving just around town yesterday and today it is really bothering me that I can't heel and toe any more after my foot ordeal. Have almost slammed my forehead into the windshield forgetfully trying heel and toe downshift coming to a regular street corner or stop light. Heck that was part of the fun of driving a standard! The heel and toe downshift, not slamming my forehead into the windshield.

What is with Stijn!! sliding to the 2nd page lately? Was it because I mentioned toothpaste and Nipple Lube? Or is it that you all are just scared because I got the 928 back?

Good Hump day morning all
Yea, the thread is losing steam. When Rick abandoned us it lost a lot of reply posters as well. Once upon a time we had two women as regulars, now they are off in the real world. Sid does not show up much more than Pete. ![]() Many of the long time contributors have faded away back to the real world.

Sid took one of the women with him. Slacker! Livi no longer sings, no more beer and mushrooms from Nynor, G and Stijn don't bicker with y'all anymore. Wayne has been offline for a while too and I had some percussion questions. Azzy up and went back home, but Jeff still loves ya!
Richard, do you use your heel or ball of your foot? Can you change techniques to the opposite of what you do now? I have always used the ball of my foot on the brake and outside edge to blip the gas. Never tried it the other way.

Good Day.
Actually made my meeting this week so there was that horrible 8am commute to deal with. Even driving the 928 didn't take the drudgery out of it, did keep that smile going though. Got to talk one on one to our new VP of IT and Technology. Sounds like I am gonna get a lot busier being the Active Directory and 365 go to guy. Not thrilled about using Multi Factor Identification from home since I log in and out so much, but have been recommending and getting turned down setting it up for our mobile sales staff. Talked about our current IT budget has only been 1% of the companies expenses and it needs to be at least 5% to 7% to do more than just barely keep our heads above water. Board has been starving the IT department and then complaining we don't get enough done. Betting I get to move us to Azure.

Good over the hump day!
On the slide to a long weekend at the least and a entire week off for many. My mean boss may have me working this weekend if one of the projects hits. The company that makes and sells the new software package we use that has the distributed computed package has great tech support. We have a guy we can reach via skype most any time and he knows the software inside and out. We want to get the package add on to add 3 more CPUs to our project for just 30 days. That will take a projects from 40 days of processing to 6 days of processing. We have two projects to get processed in that 30 days. We are ready to go, but he decided to go and get married, and he is getting married in Israel. For some reason he does not want to put that on hold and get us the license numbers to get rolling. I think it is pretty self centered to worry about a wedding rather than providing the tech support we need. We will figure something out.

Good Morning All!
Oh Boy, get a free lunch today! Department is having a Welcome new VP of IT/Christmas lunch BBQ. The BBQ thing is kind of a department tradition. The past VP of IT and another IT staffer that passed away prided themselves on their smokers so it was always a pot luck affair. A lot of good home made stuff including cherry cobbler and home made ice cream. They always had me bring the beans because I have a secret ingredient they all love, chocolate! Pretty much wipes out the department for the rest of the day. This one is going to be catered. Guess you can't really go wrong with BBQ though. Oh yeah, everyone brings their families too. IT is the only department that does this kind of thing. Kind of interesting that the fairly new IT Director is keeping it going since the last VP of IT that retired was always the BBQ chef/instigator calling it his employee appreciation GTG even though everyone brought pot luck dishes. Amazing it is supposed to be in the 60's today. Four years ago we had an ice storm that caused my cottonwood tree to crash through my new roof with a big limb. Worst part it took out my internet and cable TV slicing the cable run thru the attic.
