I don't disagree, but I personally find it more constructive to get a new shooter to slow down on their own, rather than saddling them with the state-of-the-1873-art loading process.
If they can't slow down and focus, then you start loading the magazine with one round at a time. |

Yup. I didn't really learn to shoot the rifle until I got serious about muzzle loading. It did wonders for my hunting as well.

Yes, this has to be fun to keep the interest up, but handgunning is a particularly demanding shooting discipline. And the one, in my experience, where folks are the most prone to get lazy about it. Mostly because it is so difficult. Maybe we need to define "good shooting". I look at it from a hunter's perspective. I expect to be able to take deer-sized game cleanly out to about 80-100 yards with an open sighted, 4 3/4" revolver, from an improvised field rest. Others are happy to get most shots into a man-sized silhouette target at the "standard combat range" of seven yards. Or they are pleased to keep most shots in the black, from a rest, at 25 yards. To me, neither of the latter examples represent "good shooting". But, if they are having fun, and it's good enough for them, who am I to say?

Wheel Guns
Top: A Colt Officers Model Match in 22LR...action is smooth as glass, great weight and balance..Mid 60's mfg.
Middle: An Colt Official Police in 22LR converted to a Colt King Super Target..addition of the rib wt sights, smoothed out action and Pachymeyer rubber grips. Early post war OP and conversion. This is the predecessor of the Python and Diamondback. Tough one to find. Notice the picture of the mirrored front sight Bottom: Original prewar S&W K22, has Triggeer Shoe and late style prewar grips. Notice the quality of the blue job. The fit and finish on these can not be beat. ![]()

I have a 6" barreled Colt Peacemaker that comes with a .22 mag cylinder also that I would like to get rid of if anyone is interested. It is in very nice shape, but I hate shooting revolvers. It came with my wife along with a .44 magnum Ruger Blackhawk (which is not for sale as it is my wife's favorite gun). I have a Ruger Mark II .22 which I like to shoot and I am going to purchase an AA .22 conversion for my new Glock 34 to practice shooting cheap .22 with this winter.
Make me on offer on the Colt if anyone is interested. It does not have it's original box, but looks like it has not seen much use. ![]()

Wow 23 minutes for a sale. I am kinda disappointed actually. I didn't think it would last that long really.

That browning is perfect if it is in your price range. Super accurate, reliable, great feel, and good looks.

It is called a Frontier Scout...typically they go for $400 to $600 or so...
They really don't have the same cachet as the SAA..
