Anyone have weight loss goals for 2010?

Hi guys...what are your weight loss goals for the year? Anyone? How are you going to achieve them? What's the hardest part about losing weight for you?

Not directly. I'm just trying to get back into shape, which i guess involves losing weight. I've been working out a couple months now. You gotta look good for the ladies. Once it warms up I will be riding my bike, playing baseball and softball.

Been working out pretty intensly the second half of this year, and getting fit - but not losing much weight.

Trying to go more "paleo" in the New Year and cut down on the carbs..

Achilles tendonitis derailed my running activities last year and contributed to a weight gain of about 6 - 8 lbs. I'd like to lose about 10 - 12 lbs at this point.

I came back from a knee injury and Europe 13 lbs heavier. And I couldn't really get rid of it, even though I was working out and playing racquetball a few times a week. The diet change was what did it for me.

I went from this, which was taken in Italy:

To this, which took about 16 days. (It's amazing what good nutrition can do...)

Things definitely slowed down as far as my metabolism goes. (I'm 38) But I connected with a good nutrition system and it's been awesome so far.

Nice. I met a girl at the dog park the other day that was a fitness model. She said her workout changed about 5% a month before the competition, and her diet changed 95%.

Has anyone done any systems that have helped? I did Isagenix for mine and it was obviously good. I still take it every day. But there are a bunch of them out there.

Is this the part where someone makes the comment about losing 110-120 lbs of annoying fat?

I need to get rid of 5 pounds that I will gain after the holidays and vacation days are over. Add another 5 for good measure to reset to college weight. It will be very easy - get back to work, no more than a couple of drinks a week, stay away from the snack machine and eat only a salad for dinner - no carbs after 4 pm. Activity level stays the same - some running and outings with the dog daily.

Didn't you guys have a "biggest loser" competition on here before? Maybe it is time to pull together a competition? There should be a 3 month period along with category "most weight lost" as well as "percentage of weight loss goal achieved", for some of the folks that can't make a 50 pound loss without starving.

Anyone?

George

I found that getting Crohn's disease then going into the hospital to get a foot of intestines cut out seems to do the trick. I went from 160lbs to 143 lbs in just a matter of weeks.

Good job empyto. Those are great results. I agree 100% that nutrition is everything. I went from 202 to 172 in 90 days with the only focus on nutrition. I still weight trained but didnt modify my workout AT ALL. Not even cardio. In fact I didnt do cardio at all. I only did this as a bet with someone as my best weight is around 195 solid. (which is where I am now) 172 is a little to thin for me.

Portion control. Cardio and light weight training. Wish I could run but the knees can't take it.

no weight loss goals but I do have a goal to get my bench up to 365 sometime this year. I'll be 41 in April and only weight 170 right now. My max bench is just barely over 300 now so it might be within reach. Its important for everyone to have some kind of goal to work towards. We only get one body and one shot at life so do everything you can to be the best you can be. If not for yourself do it for your family. Maybe you guys could start a thread posting your achivements as you go and it might encourage others. The results would be interesting to see.

In the last 6 months, after being laid off twice and settling for a job with a substantially lower pay, huge amounts of stress, not being able to sleep and a huge reduction in appetite I think due to depression I have lost about 25lbs. I cant recommend this "diet" though.

215 to 200, 6' tall, low carbs, no alcohol for January and February, exercise daily.
I started this regimen Christmas day.

I will indulge on New Years eve, some Champagne and good red wine with dinner at home
