Yep, got to shoot them!!! Took my son and a buddy to a game preserve this weekend. My son and I went once before. It is great fun! shot my 28ga which is a blast.

The pheasant and chukar are also delicious. great fun watching the dogs work as well. This last trip we had a first year dog who managed to catch two birds (didn't hold his point well) and a more experienced dog that was flat out bad assed. dog sniffed out a quail hiding under a brush pile and started pulling branches out of the pile trying to get closer to it! possibly the coolest thing I've seen hunting.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1516120161.jpg

thanks.!!

if my stepdad was alive, i would do a bobwhite hunt. he said it was the best hunt of his life. i would kill to do that for him again.

Frozen burritos.

A lot of stuff freezes well:
Butter, shredded cheese, peppers, dried fruits like cherry/cranberry for tuna/chicken salads, nuts for breads, white or brown rice cooked in homemade chicken bone broth, you name it.

Oink sandwich.
It's better with a panko chicken filet and lettuce and a dab of honey with stone ground mustard.

Mark, how was the brisket?

Baz 01-18-2018 07:06 PM

^^^ Mark says "Hold my beer..." :p That's amazing...yum!!!

This is the time of year for soup.....so I made chicken today in the slow cooker.....

The recipe I used as a base included enchilada sauce plus green chilies and diced tomatoes so it has a little bite to it.

I added other stuff like mushrooms, potatoes, and egg noodles.

Turned out very tasty!

Fantastic. I've done it twice now. It's my new go to brisket method.

Cool. What does your sous vide kit consist of?

Shaun @ Tru6 01-26-2018 08:13 AM

Toasted bon mi sandwich. Needs a little work but overall very tasty. Shredded leftover roast chicken (here I would do grilled lime marinated chicken breast or tenderloins), baby arugula, shredded carrots, onion all tossed in lime juice and olive oil. Added a tiny bit of cream cheese to test, it was good with and without. Mix a lot of sriracha into mayo, spread on both sides of bread (definitely need cuban bread and a press for never version), put everything on, add some cucumber slices, place in buttered saute pan and toast. Definitely food truck worthy.
