Man, you're bunch of crusty old farts. Of course I am too (52 next week), but I liked it. Thinking back to Tom Petty, The Who, Stones and even Paul McCartney, this was fresh and innovative by comparison.

45 years ago I said I would never sound like my father, that critical, culturally ossified, uncool old fart. But here I am at sixty, sounding like my father - What the hell is with music these days? It all sounds like noise! Does it take talent to make that schit? Why do the females all have to make those guttural sounds down in their throats? There was so much vitriol pouring out here I had to look it up and watch it.

I've gotta admit, I'm not a fan of BEP, but the biggest flaws I could see were poor microphone control and a general lack of rehearsal time for the first number. Once they warmed up a bit, it was passable.
What did you expect? You were watching football the rest of the show.

Don't see much of any talent there. Tecno-bublegum schlock-rap.

The lighted dancers were the best part, which does not bode well for the BEP's.

For a small part of the show, I thought it was part of a Jack in the Box commercial (square heads vs. round head)

As for M. Jackson, they lost a great Superbowl halftime act.

I didn't realize 19-30 year olds were the main audience for the game. Otherwise, why that choice in music?

I would have preferred Billy Joel (still alive) or Frank Sinatra (I know. He's dead), but that's just me.

Got a ways to go for sixty but I here you loud and clear. Two suggestions for you..

Sarah McLachlan - Voice of an Angel (if there were angels)
Sara Bareilles - Can be a little poppy, but a natural talent who writes and plays her own stuff

No....my man card is not available, I still get quite a bit of use out of it!

I'll take your word for it. I haven't heard her even try to use her voice to sing. She's always doing that yodeling/gargling crap that sounds like a pissed off A-rab woman fixin' to go all jihad on somebody. Every time I've listened to her it's made me want to hurl.
