Chrysler’s success with the 1950’s cars led to the production of 55 turbine-powered machines in 1963 as part of a national test program in which the cars were loaned for three-month periods to interested families across America. After the end of the program, in 1967, all but nine cars were destroyed.

This Engine made it VERY close to production. To the best of my Hemi memory the only surviving one is owned by Dick Landy's museum. I think its a 400 CUI I think the 440 died on the dyno. They also experimented with an overhead cam Hemi. i will try to find a pic tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this.

I think Landy donated or sold it to a museum in Auburn Indiana.

Mickey Thompson with his new 1967 Indy car “No Mouse” engine 304.5 ci Thompson treated Chevrolet, three valved with fuel injection rated at 540 hp. All of the rods, pistons, crankshaft, rocker arms and valves were machined in house, with my dad as one of the lead machinist on these parts, and Sid Waterman was the lead mechanic.
