For the really good stuff, style and quality, go here:

Georges Showroom

It's in Pasadena. I'm not sure, but I'd imagine that they'd ship.

Another reason why I could care less that Kalifornia is bankrupt and going deeper every day. They make stoopid decisions that cost millions and for what?

Darn near all brass is outlawed here now. Most new faucets are stainless steel, and due to higher cost of materials and manufacturing either cost a whole bunch more, or are made really, really thin and cheap:

Quote:
To enhance the machinability of brass, lead is often added in concentrations of around 2%. Since lead has a lower melting point than the other constituents of the brass, it tends to migrate towards the grain boundaries in the form of globules as it cools from casting. The pattern the globules form on the surface of the brass increases the available lead surface area which in turn affects the degree of leaching. In addition, cutting operations can smear the lead globules over the surface. These effects can lead to significant lead leaching from brasses of comparatively low lead content.[5]Silicon is an alternative to lead; however, when silicon is used in a brass alloy, the scrap must never be mixed with leaded brass scrap because of contamination and safety problems.[6]

In October 1999 the California State Attorney General sued 13 key manufacturers and distributors over lead content. In laboratory tests, state researchers found the average brass key (to open a lock) , new or old, exceeded the California Proposition 65 limits by an average factor of 19, assuming handling twice a day.[7] In April 2001 manufacturers agreed to reduce lead content to 1.5%, or face a requirement to warn consumers about lead content. Keys plated with other metals are not affected by the settlement, and may continue to use brass alloys with higher percentage of lead content.[8][9]

Also in California, lead-free materials must be used for "each component that comes into contact with the wetted surface of pipes and pipe fittings, plumbing fittings and fixtures." On January 1, 2010, the maximum amount of lead in "lead-free brass" in California was reduced from 4% to 0.25% lead. The common practice of using pipes for electrical grounding is discouraged, as it accelerates lead corrosion.[10][11]

Milt,
FWIW, there was a bunch of these lav/bar faucets on eBay when I looked a few months ago. Some made by Chicago (pricey), some made elsewhere (less so).

I am not sure if I am going to get it, thinking I should if I am going to keep working. One reason I have not gotten mine is that I just don't feel like giving in to those f'ers. I am very tire of them leaching money and time out of hard working people like myself just so that they can huge a tree. What's worst is that a toilet is no longer good if its 1.6 GPM as of 2011. It had to be something like 1.36gpm or some BS like that. I am not sure what the exactly number is, but it is something stupid like .2XX GPM difference.
1.28 GPF (gallons per flush). This is the new standard, Gotta love this wonderful government we have

So instead of flushing once or twice now we'll have to flush four times

Sorry but Kalifornia is fukked up in so many ways that I cannot see how you guys take it. I moved East years ago and there simply is not enough $$ to get me to return.

For the potties and so on, head down to Chula Vista then walk across the border. Get a real potty that uses 3-4 gallons per flush. Take it home, bolt it down then put 2-3 bricks in the water chamber and modify it how YOU want it to flush.

It will be a cold day in hell before I let the govt tell me how to do my faucets and potties... especially in the land of "fruits and nuts!"

Each and every job I would buy from them without questions asked. They hired some new sales boys and they play that high end game and pissed off a couple of my clients. We would dropped 4-7 grand in plumbing fixtures in there every couple of months during the days when jobs were humming along a good few years ago. EVen since then, I stop sending people in there. I get it from someone else now locally. They are even cheaper and people are much nicer to deal with.

Just buy a Toto toilet so you never have to go across the border or near the border and save all the troubles. They flush just as well, if not better IMO.

Oh, we also tell you what kind of light bulbs you must have in your kitchen, bathrooms, and the outside of your house.

I solved the toilet problem and I posted that at the beginning of summer. I got a new toilet and got a different flush kit. It uses a little more water and works every time. No 2 flushes and it's not a dual flush either. Somehow, I don't mind that concept. But 2 flushes kinda defeats the purpose.

The faucet is for my garage. Maybe I'll just get a Moen. Right now I'm watching CL because you can buy anything used there. I see people ripping out wet bars regularly and the faucets are hardly used.

Jeff, no I didn't get a lead cert. I'm "officially" retired. My license is inactive. Getting a cert would just raise a flag. Unless I come out of retirement (officially), I won't even consider it. I don't intend to ever do any work for the rest of my life that would require a permit unless I build myself a home someday.

And the way things are going, there's slim chance of that. I seriously think it would be easier to use manufactured housing. Anywhere out of city limits and I would do that.

But I digress.
