Bugs - that table is a Tag-Porsche F1 engine that has since been sold. The new owner tracked its history and found it had won a couple of races.

Clearly, Smokey was the real inspiritation behind that advertising, but he's far too interesting to waste his time on commercials.

Hadn't thought of that, but it's sort of right. Except Smokey's "distinguished" look is all a facade He's neurotic and acts like an emotionally disturbed teenager! He's more human than dog. Lately, on long car trips he gets extreme anxiety and we've had to give him doggie-Zanex. Here he is in his glassy-eyed happy place under some duffel bags ...

Wow! That is really cool. I wonder if the new owner keeping it as a table or bringing to back to its operational glory...

That pic of Smokey stoned is classic! Better doggie living through modern chemistry. Henry shakes like crazy at first when we strap him into his safety seat then head out in the car. We have even caught him sitting there and then when he notices one of us looking at him..... he starts with his shaking. It's funny to see but then he completely stops when we head home. We don't know his full story since he is our rescue Lump.

My daughter inherited her love for dogs honestly. She lost her Mitzi yesterday and she's really down. Mitzi was a dachshund she got when she was 15. She's 29 now. The little pissah survived a coyote attack, a year with a tattooed loser-boy who got her mom to move to Lake Havasu to live in poverty (I buried him in the desert and nobody will every find the body), four years of college, and my grandson. A good life.

Man that would be rough to lose someone you spent half your life with.

Glad my father in law likes me or I would have been alligator poop before I ever had a chance to move back to Cali.

RIP Mitzi....she looks just like my Dozer, the wonder dog. I hope to have many years with him. He is a unique, gentle, non aggressive and quiet Doxy...a rare combo. He will be a Daddy soon, his mate has a little more growing up to do.....let me know if she will be ready for a new companion. We will have reds, B&Ts and various long hairs.

Thanks Joe Bob, I'll let her know. They also have a lab. I think her husband prefers bigger dogs.

Yah, half her life with one dog is significant loss. I think I'm going to buy her a bulldog for her birthday. She's always wanted one and her husband doesn't. What are fathers for...getting they daughter stuff their husbands won't.

My wife always preferred big dogs. Mini dachsunds are the Hershey's Kisses of the dog world, big things come in small packages. Now the love of her life is a mini dachshund.

My daughter in Orlando has a new dog, Charlie. Her first dog. It's a 4-year old Schnauzer mix. She got him from a shelter and it had been there for about a month. When he was brought in, his hair was horribly matted and they shaved him down. He's almost unrecognizable from his original photo. He had been tied up to a dog house and neglected. Now? He's living the life of luxury and trying to figure out his new-found freedom roaming the backyard and the swimming pool

Bravo!!! Very luck little guy to have been rescued by your daughter.

Thanks for sharing a good news story.

Side question for us non-Floridians. When the wife and I visited the region, we both were curious about the yard/pool enclosures. We do not see those on the Left-coast and was wondering the purpose. Little flying critter protection or BIG critter protection? We also noted that we didn't see any local stray animals either. Giving "trail-running" a whole new meaning I guess
