Dave

Never fear I had some friends over for dinner, one of them (a Scot btw)was sitting on the patio with a Scotch in hand when my Airedale comes up and starts lapping up the elixir of Scotland...guess the Dale couldn't resist the taste of home.

I do miss my dogs, I loved them so, and it broke my heart to see them go.

BTW, Rocky looks just like my Zoey did!

I never understood the appeal of a large dog until I met Kat. She is a sweet heart and a Rock Star at the same time.

Hi guys,

I've been following this thread for a long time, I love dogs, but end up with a ten hour door to door workday and never felt right about making a dog wait that long. So, I got my dog fix by sitting for friends and volunteering with the local Golden Retriever Rescue- RAGOM, Rescue A Golden Of Minnesota. Well, long story short, a volunteer with the rescue found about an owner neglect situation where a dog was tied outside and not being fed except by a neighbor. Guy finally gets evicted and the volunteer, another rescue and the sheriff go and get the dog. Because he's paralyzed and has special needs, he doesn't find a foster home and gets boarded at a great vet. The people at the vets office treat him very well, but the accommodations aren't really made for a dog who drags himself to get around. I start taking him for the weekends and finally in December tell the rescue what I can offer him and we all agree that even with my long days, it's a better deal for him, so now he's my foster dog!

His name is Tundra and he is a cool dude.

Tundra has his own Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FindAHomeForTundra

Please share with anyone you can so we can get him a forever home.

The website for the rescue is: Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota - Rescue & re-home Golden Retrievers and if you click the tab "available dogs" on the left and then find Tundra 14-123, you can see many more pictures and information about him.

The rescue adopts in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and a little bit of Wisconsin.

Well done Rwest that is a good looking dog! Mine are both rescues as well, if I were closer Tundra would probably be joining the pack!

Baz 03-05-2015 05:24 PM

Well done Rutager - great photos there! Tundra is very handsome! I will forward his info and please keep us posted of his progress.

Thanks guys,

He's an awesome dog- doesn't let his injury spoil his day, we could learn a lesson from his attitude.

We are coming up on 2 weeks with Copper the (Pembroke Welsh) Corgi, after being dogless/petless for a few years. She's a cutie, playful and seems to have a good temperament.

My daughter in law is an emergency pit bull foster mom, but she ends up getting all breeds of dogs in distress. She just stopped by with these this morning, she got them a few days ago.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1426259092.jpg

They are about 2 weeks old I guess. Their eyes just opened yesterday and they weigh about a pound and a half each. The meth-head owners were having a fight and the meth-head guy threatened to start shooting the meth-head woman's dogs. She called a local vet, who called DIL, who picked up the mom and her 9 (yes NINE) puppies. The mom is 18 months old and is trying to learn how to be a mom, but the puppies need to be brought to her in shifts for nursing. They're all pretty healthy so far. They seem to be lab/pit bull mix.
