Thoughts and prayers for you and Cole, Jim. My eldest girl turned 10 this spring. Yes, they are both too young to leave us.
Please keep us posted.... |

My little buddy, Harley. 16 years old and acting just like an old man. He has his good days as well as his bad ones, and often frustrates himself that he can no longer bound down the stairs like he did all of his life. We put his older "sister" down last year after 19 years. I hope we get another three from this one, too. Great animals, these JRTs. |

a month back my old heeler cowboy looked doomed. my girlfriend secretly arranged for a replacement puppy. cowboy recovered, and it looks like he will keep chugging a while longer.
but the new puppy showed up anyway. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429825749.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429825776.jpg will try for non blurry photos later. |

already have two heelers. this makes 2 and a half. don't think my house can physically cope with more.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429838937.jpg the list of potential names goes... crash virgil beevus yeager lord chaos spud his personality changes every twenty minutes. so it's hard to settle on one. |
p.s.
we know the mother is a blue heeler. the dad is a sneaky neighbor dog. maybe an english setter. 6 weeks old. and really hope it's not too late for his ears to come up. |

The little boy down the road looked at my dog and said "I haven't seen Rooney since he was a kitten." LOL

handsome lad V..
his ears.. who cares.. remember your Lady cares about you despite that.....;) my last Rott from Germany came with his full tail in place.. Europe no longer allows tails, ears, well any modification to appearance.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429882797.jpg |
Baz- what's going on with Bailey?
|
Quote:
of course i'm not going to get them cropped. he is what he is. i just think heeler ears are awesome. he's got a heeler tail, paws and stocky build. the web says it may take six months. had the kid's track team over last night for some reason. a dozen middle school girls fawned over him for an hour. me, cowboy and t-rex just hid upstairs. |
My Aussie has a bobbed tail and we say he is "wagging his nub". when he get's excited, his whole butt wags.
|
Picking this girl up on Sunday. She's 11, came to me via Old Dog Haven, a non profit that helps find permanent and foster placements for older dogs in the PNW. My daughter is providing the transport halfway between Seattle and Spokane. Her name is Harley and she's been blind for about 3 years.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...05bccc1439cebf |

Brother, You are a true HERO! Bravo, Bravo. We tried to provide a loving home to a senior pup, however the rescue felt our lifestyle was not in his best interest. We then rescued Sir Henry from an animal shelter in Truckee, CA he is approx 10 years young.... http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04...bb57ff219c.jpg This video is for you and everyone else who provides a little light for our four legged friends. I'm jealous and wish that were my floor - I love Huskies!
(Although Dad in the lower-right corner looks pretty worn out...) |

We made it home yesterday. She's a sweet dog. Has a bad ear thing going on which we have some medicine for and an open sore on her neck which I will get checked out today hopefully. The poor owner said the vet looked at it a few days ago and the only option he was given was surgical. She needs a good brushing and to loose about 10 pounds but is surprisingly spry for an 11 or 12 year old lab. Not afraid of anything either. Walks around blind as a bat bumping into all kinds of stuff :-)
