Sorry to be the pic whore, but he's my best buddy (and a handsome older fellow if I say so myself). He's a Great Dane German Shepherd mix, about 110lbs, and has no idea that at 7 he is considered a senior.

Post away Ted...great photos and Sam's a great looking companion!

Our new house is on a hill with larger lots and some open space kinda near. We're in the city but its much more open than our last home.

We have Squirrels, rabbits possums and raccoons in and out of the yard. Cole our ACD has never had a flea in his life! Until now.

3 flea baths and 2 of Sentry's Natural defense applications and he's still scratching. I placed boric acid all over the house. Vacuumed 3x, so far no fleas on us or seen in the house other than off of him.

Today I bought a Flea Comb. Imagine a comb os steel 1mm tines with only 1mm open space. I got 3 fleas off of him. All 3 fleas where dopey from the sentry product but I think he'll sleep better tonight. So should I.

teenerted1 07-27-2012 10:23 AM

there is a new Sargents brand topical flea medication that has the same ingredents as Frontline Plus that my vet directed me to. they finally have it at the grocery store so i now can have 3months of protection for the cost of one month of Frontline.

use the drops year round. not a big tick area here but merle went into some bushes after some rabbits a few weeks ago and the bugs were jumping off him to get away from the stuff. was about 2 weeks after the application, so the stuff really works.

LOVELY photo Rika! :)

David...love the Devo Whippet! :D

Don - I think Chip is looking for some wine under there!

Jim - the product I have been using (it's a topical) has been discontinued by the manufacturer so no sense in mentioning it - but that's what I have been using the last few years and it works great. My girls are inside most of the time so factor that in.

Thanks Mark - glad you enjoyed it. I've shot a lot of film of my girls over the past 6 years so it's not hard finding some good footage. I use Windows Movie maker and it fairly easy to make a custom video that way.

Now for ALL dog folks.....here is a moving tribute to "Spud" that I think is worth reading.

I think we can all relate to the story of "Spud" and his human family....
