How does that GP100 shoot with .357mag? Seems like it would be a handful (no pun intended).

Thought this was funny…Considering the crowd on this thread
![]() WHERE YOU LIVE MAKES A DIFFERENCE You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel. By Southern California standards, someone owning 100,000 rounds is considered "mentally unstable." In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector." In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector." In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food." In Wyoming he would be someone that had just moved to the state and hasn't had enough time get an ample amount of ammunition gathered up yet.

Very nice, Craig. Flat spring or coil spring? Do you have a favorite load for it? Black or smokeless? So many of these old guns are at their best with black, which goes a long way towards bumping bullets up to overcome undersize chamber / oversize bore relationships so common back then.

New to the herd............
Just added this Colt Officers Model to the herd. A fairly late (1952) gun with nickel finish (unusual). Grips are Circassian walnut. Please forgive the finger smudges! I should have wiped it down before taking the picture. Chambered for .38 special. Note the custom hammer!

ah the FN (euro) version of the Colt (US) 1908. Nice find. Those date earlier than the Colt made ones.

Walther PPK question???
I'm interested in a Walther PPK manufactured between WWII and early 1960's (I'm a big 007 fan). A beautiful 1961 coming up Saturday at the Carol Watson auction, but it's a .380 with a brown grip. Bond used a 7.65 (32 ACP) and a black grip. Would you guys wait and keep looking for the 7.65 in black? …or would that be close enough for you??? …I've found some matches on GB, but nobody will ship to CA.

Strangely it's quite accurate. I fired at the standard 25 meter pistol target. Got some in the black, some in the white, and the rest - well, there have been no reports of missing hikers
![]() It came with the original holster too. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Bill Douglas; 03-04-2015 at 02:21 PM.. |
