The pm7 i just picked up . Looks like a 2008 import.. left on the shelf..no demand. No appreciation.. unknown unloved.. the filistines here buy a brands. Ruger. S&w sig kimber sti.. For higher price than this pm7 was Its an awesome deal for me. So sometimes it is a good thing to be surrounded by filistines. Cause my pricr was same as my other one bought in 2010..no inflation. No markup due to dw's increased reputatiom and fame Last edited by svandamme; 09-14-2023 at 11:03 PM.. |

So, what does it like? The 185 Gr or the 230 gr. My Springfield is crazy accurate with the 230 and barely hits the target with 185 gr.

Asking price for those two was enough for a nice, recent second hand car.
I got a very good deal though. I did not pay full asking price. These are not at all in the same league as the uber expensive ones from H&H. But very nice nonetheless. The B25 is a custom job. (This was the gunsmith's personal weapon) Some details from my other H&H. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Love the top lever on that B25 and the sxs engraving is just perfect!!! beautiful guns.
This is my most recent addition. Engraving is signed so either by hand or possibly hand chased. It's based on the MX8 which has a drop out trigger with flat springs. Old school tech that hasn't changed since it was introduced to compete in the 1968 Olympics. No barrel selector, fixed choke, even old style soldering for the barrel mid ribs claimed to allow better barrel regulation. ![]()

Here’s the trigger group. Supposed to be one of the fastest lock times available. Not sure I can feel or detect such a thing but it is pretty nice.
The flat springs are supposedly 100% until they break whereas coil springs lose springiness over time. ![]()

Are you actually allowed to keep a gun like this in your home? Much less carry it? I'm unfamiliar with your law. Don't most European countries require that handguns be left at your gun club at all times?

Keeping it in your home is common practice.
Keeping it in a club is not. Carry licence is very very rare and you need a valid reason. Let’s say a diamond trader who regularly transports gems and runs a significant risk to be mugged, can apply for one. Most civilians cannot get a carry license.

sports shooter (Model9) , match shooting, clay pigeon, bolt guns, 22 pistol limited formalities, must be part of a shooting federation, do 12 shoots a year and medical cert by your GP. do minor theoretical exam.. do practical exam per class you shoot in. (pistol/revolver / rifle/ shotgun/ blackpowder) Hunting , bolt guns, shotguns.. must be part of a hunting federation and do exams for hunting regulations... not easy.. takes studying.. Recreational shooting permit (Model4): member of shooting club do handling exam and stupid test with the cops Semi rifles , pistols revolvers, shotguns, lever guns, anything except semi auto most do the Model 9 requirements, then request Model 4 permit Because the model 9 makes for less paperwork on model 4 requests. Collector Anybody who has already a number of weapons in above systems Can request a collector license. But.. it has to be a narrow theme.. for instance "Vietnam war Within that theme.. anything goes.. including full rock and roll However, you can't really shoot em much, just for a function check.. and there are no ranges with full auto you can go anyways. Collectors don't need permits, they maintain a ledger.. and are subject to very frequent inspections by the cops. In all of the above scenarios Weapons must be stored away from ammo Either with parts removed to prevent instant use or stored in a gun safe no magazines loaded no ammo near You house must be suitably safe, locked doors, no ladders or tools for burglary laying around (they actually mention that on issue.. because I'm sure some tards need to be told) In recent year they got more serious , the village copy (she's nice , likes kitty cats, all good) had to come check my house. Showed her the safe imma bedroom where guns are kept showed her my garage where ammo is kept. That's the ideal scenario for them.. Mostly because they want to avoid readily available guns and ammo in heated family matters or with kids playing with guns In my case no issue, I don't have wife or kids. Main thing even just hinting at any need for self defence .. forget it, you wont get a permit. Genuine self protection : Those very few people who have a genuine threat, jewelers, people in weird lines of work... They can get a carry license... But it has to be a serious threat.. Work related, not just because somebody on the internet called you a poopoo head... Now obviously.. theory and practice may differ.. some do keep their gun in a safe that is only 1 number rotation from opening and keister a loaded mag of .45 just in case they get jumped. But hey.. who would know.. right?

In Holland its actually the opposite... keeping guns at the club is way common there. And they are limited to a max of 5 guns. hence there is way more trade in Holland , they can't hoard and must rotate to experience more different guns... In Belgium we are actually allowed quite a lot compared to NL FR or UK Reloading is fine (UK requires license, Ireland banned) Semi autos are fine buying boxes of 1000 rds 762 and 1000 rds 556 and 1000 rds 45ACP in one go.. nobody bats an eyelid (except for my GP when I had done my back in hauling it to the house) There is only a limit of maximum 10kg total smokeless powder to be on premise at any given time. And it is really just a hazards regulations limit, not entirely gun law limitation as far as I am aware. Well, 10 kg of powder is a lot of ammo and reloading components, I can assure you.. Unless you are hoarding loads of different types of powder, and not really using it often.. you are not going to be limited by that 10 kg. And you can get around it.. if you have a good neighbor and have him store another 10 kg in his garden shed.. just in case (Belgians are masters at bending rules ![]()

Anyone know how it works in France and/or Italy, in terms of sport pistol shooting, ownerships, collectors, etc?

Anyone who is interested.
Those rules and regulations are about the same as here in New Zealand. And Australia is much the same too. Some guys have something like 200 guns and own browning machine guns, by having a collector licence, but you aren't allowed to shoot them. Pistols, they are getting a bit snarly about them and you HAVE to do at least 12 shoots at the club per year. |

Great information guys, thank you very much. It sounds like at least a few European countries allow greater freedoms than some of our states, Second Amendment notwithstanding. But we have other threads in which we can discuss those matters. Let's get back to our regularly scheduled programming (pics) on this one.
Here is my current pair of 1911's. Full sized Colt, Officer's Model sized Kimber. They both shoot 230 grain cast round noses or 200 grain cast semi-wadcutters equally well. My defensive load uses the 230 grain XTP from Hornady in a +P level load that touches 900 fps from the longer barrel. The stocks on the Colt are Goncalo Alves, a Brazilian hardwood that S&W used to use on some of their revolver grips. ![]()
