Similar to Belgium.. its all subject To EU regs above the nation..
So in big lines its the same but there are minor differences, France is stricter on military time semi auto stuff. looser on sound suppressors.

the bigger countries outside the big cities have more hunting and the hunting makes that aspect of gun laws more relaxed.

Some guys have something like 200 guns and own browning machine guns, by having a collector licence, but you aren't allowed to shoot them. Pistols, they are getting a bit snarly about them and you HAVE to do at least 12 shoots at the club per year.
Didn't Kiwiland and Aus have huge gun bans, and big restrictions as a result of some shooting (OZ long ago, Kiwi more recently)?
Like Oz, nothing Semi, just sports shooting guns, pretty close to UK?

I would not call it bigger freedoms tho.. there is strict registration and there are few places to shoot..

Over to pics

This is probably my next purchase.. Model 70 for some long range shooting in UK

had a Model 70 before, good action, good barrels(by FN).
And its nice to shoot a bone stock Model 70 against AI Sniper chassis rifles and beat them BTDT

But probably will get a Stainless, that mat barrel coating did not hold up loast time, was very easy to damage and get rust through , hat to keep it wet all with gun oil at all times

Oh yes. Some Australian guy shot up a bunch of Muslims at a mosque in Christchurch NZ. Since then any autoloading centrefire rifle has been outlawed. My ten shot Benelli M2 had to become a seven shot and no Mini 14 for me

It was a popular thing for the government (Labour/left/democrat) to do, banning evil guns. Particularly black coloured military looking ones.

Apparently Goex has gotten some product out the door. Pissed off a lot of retailers by taking it to the big friendship shoot and selling it at near wholesale price....

This is my budget sniper rifle.
A Tikka T3X lite, in .308. (2.9kgs/6.4Lbs, without a scope)
GRS bifrost stock, I've added a bipod.
Very smooth action, even better than my Sauer S404.

Ah yes, the ubiquitous Model 70. When I was still traveling a bit to hunt, and I wanted something no muss, no fuss, it was always one or the other of my M70's. Both are similarly outfitted, with Leupold 1.5-4x Vari-X III's, and back up open sights. Both are also zeroed with their own Williams peep sight that I just carry in my pocket. The glass stocked rifle is chambered in .375 H&H, the wood stocked one in .30-'06.

Funny you should mention their matte black barrel coating - I have had the same bad experiences with it, times ten. I've long since lost track of how many rainy Alaska (and Washington, and Oregon) nights the .375 sat outside under the awning on a wall tent (we don't bring them in at night in wet environs for a number of reasons), audibly rusting. I swear I could hear the rust crackling as it formed...

O.k., a slight exageration, but I swear I have never had another rifle rust so easily. Must be the porosity of the finish or something. My traditionally blued rifles do not rust nearly as badly under the same conditions. Pretty disappointing trait of an otherwise outstanding rifle.

Can you Cerakote or similar the rust-prone Model 70?

Yup, that's certainly a solution. I understand there are kits that allow us to do this at home. I think they need to be baked in an oven. Which is fine, my wife is used to seeing gun parts in the oven, car parts in the dishwasher, etc. I would be just a bit worried about surface prep, though. If I do it I would probably send it out to a pro. It's not like I couldn't live without it for awhile - I have two other .375's. How in the hell that happened still baffles me, but somehow here I am.

The M70 in question is in the middle, wearing a Boyd's laminated stock. I used that stock for exactly one hunt and just couldn't stand it. It's prettier than the glass stock, but twice as heavy, and just very poorly proportioned. It feels like I'm holding a baseball bat by the wrong end. The other two rifles are a #1 Tropical and a M98 Mauser:

I got a hankering for another P239 and tracked down the guy to whom I sold this one a few years ago. He's considering selling it back to me. We just need to work out the right deal.

And I threw some nickel controls parts kits into two of my P365s today too.

I’m thinking about my next spoon. The last three have been bullseye pistols, time for something else.

Have always wanted a HK P7.

I had a P230 stainless, Very good when it worked,
Felt really good in the hand, like an elegant purty PPK

point N shoot : draw blam blam on the move.. 2 inches left low and 2nd one perfect center.
but it was very finicky and would stove pipe on cold days..

For such a gun , the whole point is concealment and working in a SHTF situation
And I didn't trust that gun to work when it has to .

looked beautiful tho..

I had a few P7s, really, really regret selling them. I got two from CDNN for $500 each. Another I had in hard chrome with night sights, I paid around $1000 for 15+ yrs. ago. Germany recently decommissioned about 30k of them for various police forces. I don't know if they decided to destroy them or they're still in limbo and may get exported to the US.

And that P239 is not stainless, but rather refinished in Robar's NP3. Robar stopped doing that for civilians a while ago and another shop has developed their own version of it called NT7 (nickel teflon). But it's just too expensive now, even though the shop is local and I can drop off and pick up in person.
