Thought I'd help a friend out and post a link to his desperate sale of bikes. All I can further add is vouch for the guy and the condition of these bikes. If you're taller and like the idea of having an older vintage steel frame bike, these are all well respectable. The Schwinn Superior is not exactly light in weight, but regardless, a neat piece of Schwinn Chicago history, hand fillet brazed. Priced way under collectors market.

I've been using tubeless road tires for a couple years now. I've gotten 2 flats I had to fix by putting a tube in but several I haven't. Unlike the MTB tires, the higher pressure means the pressure has to drop a lot before it seals but it usually does.

I got my motor bike going today. I spent the afternoon bombing around in the woods and terrorizing the neighbors :D what a hoot !

I want this.
Helix - The World's Best Folding Bike Titanium folding bike. 24" wheels. Disk brakes. 1x10 drive train. Folds almost as small as a Brompton. Made in Canada. $1600. 20.5 lb. I'm thinking: longer stem, drop bars, brifters, front derailleur, double crank and you've got a folding road bike. Enough carbon bits and it can probably weigh 18 lb. Really go to town with the SRAM wireless shifters, 24" carbon rims, and 24" tubulars. |

Have a 20" folder with its twitchy handling. Made some mods to fit as a full size bike and yet its heavier than a regular bike. My first though on this Helix ti folder was going belt drive then read the FAQ: Due to the fact that the chain length expands and contracts when folding, it is not currently an option. Helix uses a modern chain drive with hollow links that is lightweight, durable and highly efficient. |
Hmm, no possibility of chain tensioner with belt drive? They have single speed and IGH models, so must have a way to take up chain slack.
I really wish the folder companies would turn their attention to incorporating drop bars in the fold. The only drop bar folder I know of is the Bike Friday. |
My next road bike, as soon as they finish hanging the cables, & a few other odds & ends, yes, the sister bike to my Rally-Cross bike:D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1445133112.jpg

Byron,
Nice ride. Just needs some aero wheels! :) |
Latest update to the bike. Reynolds Strike SLG carbon wheels. Have Bontrager R3 tires on it now but have 2 sets of Continental GP4000 tires for future.
Significant difference in ride quality with the new wheels. They also did change the turn in characteristics of the bike and they do seem to maintain speed better. Can't say if there has been any significant difference in climbing. Cheers http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1445828029.jpg |

Not huge value, as it is the base model Goose, but some kid drooled over that in 1978 because & Red-Line, Torker or Cooks Bros was a pipe dream. I have a few Geese in my Flock, wouldn't mind another;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1445878581.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1445878648.jpg |
My Scott Addict
Full Ultegra, lots of Bontrager parts as the previous owner is sponsored by Trek. Too bad my back injury has reared its ugly head, and after three pro fittings, I can feel the pain settling in after an hour on the seat. Hopefully can find a local buyer sooner than later.
