My 1999 Bianchi. Stored it away for the winter today before heading south.

I got to ride with a legend this weekend at my daughter's NICA race. Tinker Juarez. A pretty cool, chill dude. Still doing 100 mile races! He came out just for the kids. My daughter and friends were inspired.

Enough with those skinny tires!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1541893521.jpg Was out on the first real trail ride on the fatty. Was on the bike for the same amount of time as last week and did 7 less miles and I am way more tired! Fat bikes are fun! Like riding in slow motion. |

The bearings are press fit, so if you want to remove them you can sometimes knock them out from the opposite side with a drift, but you risk damaging the bearings. Or, you can get a bearing puller and do it right. Putting them back in is pretty simple, just get them lined up and press them in, use some lube. |

I thought I read an article about Tinker in Outside magazine a few months ago. My google fu has a leak, and all I could find was this SI article, but it's still pretty good.

Interesting article. Tinker "produces no lactic acid." I wish I didn't make so much, so easily! Sometimes I really hate gravity. Also found Tomac's description of the first race with Tinker familiar, as Tinker flatted on the ride I did with him as well. I plugged his tire with my new bacon strip kit. No more carrying tubes! Pretty neat adaptation of automotive tire repair to a mountain bike application.
