Always looking for an interesting set up. Send me your friends contact info. I want to do retro but something that stands out as classic.

Be prepare to wait. if he say it will be done, it wouldn't. Racing and training is more important to him, just you understand. His name is Tony Z and is well known in the racing community. He's been around as long as I have, but continuously riding and racing. Todd might / should know him.

OUt of respect to him, let me run this by him before I give his number out
I turned Tony onto my friends at MS road and race. He does all of their tune ups and bike builds. I got that bastard riding finally. Last edited by look 171; 07-09-2013 at 01:47 AM.. |

Yes, it works for most, as does the Caffe Latex. I just pay the weight penalty and run liquid sealant (around 1.5 oz per tire) in the tires to avoid having to stop and fill. Has made the spares irrelevant.

Go for a retro but techy build. In only my second time building (early 1990's), this was for my Colnago Master steelie. Sew-ups ran silk smooth and ridiculous light. I too was lighter and could get away with them. Rear with ti-spokes, front with carbon fiber (Fiberflight) bladed spokes, Nuke Proof ti hubs. Most thought I was crazy back then running radial lace, carbon spokes... LOL

I'm considering going with a conversion kit on a pair of 700C cross. Time to mash off-road, sans suspension and lower tire pressure.

Got the Rickert going today, maiden voyage was silky smooth. The engine needs a tune up. I had to borrow wheels from my other bike, I am having issues getting the rear wheel trued.

Thanks, it really rides nice. The brake levers have a cool push button wheel release. The whole thing checks in at 22 lbs. I can't believe how smooth it rides, I am happy I kept it. Thanks for the inspiration!

With all the rev about Courtney Force on the other thread, made me think of that great Rock Shox ad and dirty girl Jacquie Phelan.

![]() Temporary? addition to the stable. Lemond Victore carbon fiber. Full D/A except for the hubs. Spent 3 hours on it today and it is a beautiful climber and not too unruly on the streets. I feel like I am reaching a bit on it and maybe the bars are a bit too wide. Will see what the asking price is before I allow the hook to set!

Since Trek stopped in 08, I assume it's 5+ years old? What is the asking price?

I think it was a team bike from 2008 or 2009 for a small shop in the city.
Belonged to a friend of mines cousin. Not a lot of ride time on it. We haven't discussed a price yet. Thoughts on that?

Retail was around $3500.00, team price $2500 ish......Campy equipped a few bucks higher.
LeMond was accused of taking advantage of his Trek discount and sold a lot of them out of the trunk of his car, kinda irking the licensed dealers......lots of blurbs on the net about the he said/he said. Both sides of the arguement are asshats. But ultimately Trek backed the wrong horse and LeMond was right about Lance. LeMond is STILL an old jerk off but the bikes WERE nice. I own a Zurich Ti/Carbon bike......love it. Anyways, $1200 or less....in my opinion.
