^ That's simply gorgeous!
I'd be like a kid in a candy store with a velo orange or RH gift card! ![]() It was also interesting watching his brazing technique. He's got a pretty coarse flame and heats the whole thing. My tip (a hand me over oxy/acetylene from a brother in law) is a smaller/ hotter tip, so it's more intense pinpoint heating than what he does. I'm working it around like a spider laying a web. He's soaking in a more generalized heat and letting it flow. Interesting. edit- of course I flip the thread page with an ^ intro

Steel Frames
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My best friend and I had a business building frames. My late friend, Peter Johnson, did all the metal work and I did the paint. We did all this as teenagers. Pete carried on for his whole life. I “sold out” and went corporate . I told Pete 20 years ago that I needed a 10-speed (road bike) and he said “get a dela Santa and I did - custom in ‘60’s team colors. I need to start riding again. |

This is really sweet. "Fillet welds", I love how the seat stays go up to the seatpost pinch bolt and it looks like my preferred size!

My son bought a Bianchi trail bike... He's moved out and left it behind. Much better than the Raleigh.

Here's a sizzle-reel of a video one of my riding buds is putting together. It shows 5 of us idiots on a gravel grinder through the woods of Washington State a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully the ten-minute or so final result is as good as this little teaser.

Cool Video. Get the whole video up when you can.
Looks like a lot of it was like my weekend- with trails and not so much gravel as mtb trails. To that end, I just pulled apart my rear wheel, and all good hubs evidently go to heaven. !!!Rear axle snapped and I didn't even know it, and that's a good thing as I was cruising 40-45mph in some parts. ![]() ![]() ![]() I pulled the rear rim off to see about a small pinhole in a tire and these are the parts that came loose.

Picked up a cheap used ebike before the holiday, Ride1Up 500, with 14 mi. on odometer for under $500.
![]() Swapped the stock handlebar for something I've been wanting to try out: ![]() ![]() Put 15 miles on it over the holiday, satisfying.
