^^^ Wow, won't be there but have been to Marlinton several times. Been to the Dirtbean (bike shop / cafe) that burned down - that place was awesome. And the Roadkill Cook-Off And hardcore downhill at Snowshoe.

I stopped by my powder coated yesterday and this caught my eye.

If I owned I would probably just clear coat it.

Then I noticed these treasures next to my Mathews Monoshock frame and Red-Line forks.

For the life of me, I don't know why the owner is having these powder coated. [img]http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads26/2023

So what are your plans for this, built and ride it or flip?
I offer my assistance either way.

Ha! Dirt bean has a new place where I get breakfast, but the whole town is pretty basic. I was just semi joking with my wife I need to take some antibiotics so when I get bit by a pitbull in some holler I can just keep on trucking.

Last time I was in marlinton, a guy I was hanging out with in the bar was waiting for his friend to get out of the local hospital after he broke himself downhilling at snowshoe.

Looks very cool. When I lived in Pa we'd come down with motorcycles and stay in Marlinton for a week using it as a base for riding in the area. Miss those trips.

I've ridden Rt 39 from Warm Springs to Marlinton on the Duc and Beemer many times. BIG fun!

^I just got back from that road. What a blast. I had a local dude in a pickup reeling me in. I was giving my xc70 everything it's got. Next time, I'm throwing the bike in the 911.

Outstanding interview with LeMond. Cancellara and Froome and others using motors (why were there 5-6 bike changes on a stage back then ... ) , Armstrong, Hinault, etc. And as always, a good reminder of my continuing boycott of the criminal enterprise called Trek who screwed over Greg in favor of their pet doper.

Closest I can figure are an earlier version of yakima "big stack" sticks for kayak boat carriers.
Just a wild guess.

Edit- got it

One other possibility is that it is a adapter to mount a ladies bike on a older traditional bike rack.

If there's one thing I dislike about 911's, is that they've become an attention magnet.

That said, tonight, I had to chuckle, as I was admiring this newer stang' (I REALLY like this newer model- it really does have nice lines ),
I liked the color, the sound, the stance, the lines are sexy considering bumper height stuff, etc etc.... I really like it.
I took some pics, only to later realize....

The couple was checkin' out my bike!

Cant' make this #$% up.
Really folks...(Might not photograph well... but) It looks eff'n SWEET in person!

I liked the stang! But oh well!!!
On to this weekend's adventures!

I'm betting that lady and her man were in a bike shop soon afterwards

I think that is a very cool build, I don't know how you control it at speed with those handlebars but it is a 15 on the cool scale.

LOL- thanks. fwiw- It's sketchy above 25, but, only because I knocked the frame out of alignment when I hammered the chainstays in to get the cranks to fit from years ago. It's got a 102mm campy record bb and a q factor that pedals like road bike bliss, although, Let's say I've got some thrust angle alignment problems causing yaw issues.
