Firefly makes great looking Ti bikes. I don't think I'd ever trade my carbon for Ti though...

Wow. I wanted an Indy Fab back when they made nice bikes. Now, I don't think their stuff look so hot. Maybe I am just not a big fan of slopping top tubes but I do and have owned a few already.

So it appears that both my bikes AND my 911 are bastardizedredheads....I pulled the spec sheet out on my 2004 Bitter Old Man....errr, Greg Lemond Zurich model.....Titanium upper lower and Carbon Fiber upper.
It seems from the factory Trek equipped the bike with Full on Dura Ace. However, it now sports full Campy Chorus except for the Bontrager wheels, Chris King Threadless headset and BOM/LeMond seat post...... ![]() The 1984 Somec came with Athena Campy but had a run in with a SIS that actually worked (Dura Ace), now with 1990s 9 speed Campy.......Like anyone except a bike geek that watches Big Bang Theory is gonna notice.

delta
Are these brakes as good as or better than modern dual-pivots,and worth the high cost or are they just legendary?
I mean, seriously, I have 105's on one of my bikes, ultegras on another and I love 'em. A cinch to mount and set up, great modulation, great in the wet with Aztec pads, light and available on ebay for chump change...(and I imagine the dura ace's are even nicer!) Way, way WAY better in every way than the Weinmann center-pulls I used to back in the day... which the Deltas competed against when they were new. Don't get me wrong, I think they're beautiful. Just wondering about the price of admission.

Modern 105's would outperform those older brakes by a large margin... Ultergra or Dura-Ace, forget about it!

Yep, the Deltas are not particularly powerful, but do have great modulation. The real attraction is the beauty-even the internal parts are polished...and set up correctly (no small chore, trust me) they wok well enough to at least be ridden. The price is due to scarcity and the "look", which some guys of a certain age (ahem) just have to have.
