I got totally roasted on a submarine veterans facebook page for this but give me operational control of a boomer and all the intel I need and I would end our terrorist problem in about 30 min. but that wouldn't be very smart or politically correct in this day and age. But I would feel better!

I don't care what snopes says yes they do have them confirmed

I dont think that is what he is saying but at least under the taliban opium production was outlawed it came back after we ran the taliban out and is now their biggest cash crop.

Of all the peoples of the Middleast, only a small pecentage are terrorists.
Most are normal, moderate people trying to make their way in a tough environment.
Using a broadsword to turn anything into glass goes against the principles that I swore to uphold.
As far as A-stan goes, there will be no victory, unless you measure victory by more senseless loss of life,on both sides.

A MIRV is a surgical strike in a broad sense.

Active duty Army Lieutenant Colonel, 26 years, SOCOM; former Marine as well.

Soldiers love bravado, take it as that, it's OK, at least they didn't tell you they got a bronze star from Basic Training.

No problem, it's banter/debate on OT. I could show you President Obama's Birth Cerificate too, but I have to go to bed.

What exactly have you "seen"? My colleagues do PTSD treatment research (purple funded) and I've never heard them mention this.

America is free because the populace wanted freedom, and was willing to lay down their lives for it. These people don't want freedom, particularly not our flavor of it. They want a religious fundamentalist government, and have been killing each other for hundreds of years because they don't agree on the religion. Nothing we can do will change that. We are now a welfare provider, nothing more. As soon as we leave they will go back to their old ways.

First year student of the middle east would recognize this overhelming fact. Pity that hubris and arrogance and jingoism deterred our leaders from understanding this oh so many years ago. We cannot will the world's people to want to imitate us no matter how grand we believe our ideals to be. And you don't do it by force ... shish, how long lord, how long...

Agreed and we should have gone in, taken out the people who did not deserve to be on this earth (and who attacked America) then returned home, leaving a very strong message that if this happens again you will not get a second chance.

Alas with a country run by spineless politicians, many of whom have never worn a uniform, this will not happen...

And your vast military, Middle East and Asia experience is what? With two whole posts to your credit it does not lend much to your comment...
