Businesses who encourage communication via e-mail but don't reply after a week and then don't understand that a call asking "did you receive my e-mail?" is a polite way of asking "what kind of bass ackward business are you running if you won't serve the customer in a timely manner?"

Wild guess 1. Because they have right of way, and 2. If they don’t act assertive, cars will never stop for them even though stopping is the law. The drivers are at fault, not the peds. You are getting angry at the wrong parties. Check your drivers handbook.

Actually... Around here the law is if cars are within 25 meters of the pedestrian crossing the walker has to wait. It's to avoid emergency braking and other type accidents happening. But no one seems to know this other than those, I guess, who read the drivers handbook.

It's also a consideration/manners thing. No cars for two minutes then they leap out self rightously in front of the net car.

Real stupid people that write "If you don't get this let me know" at the bottom of their e-mail...

DIY mechanics that slather anti-seize on every nut and bolt they handle to save the next guy that works on it.

That would be me today. The next guy.

Can't remove a lug nut without smearing the gun and my hands with silver grease.

Perfect timing, I just re did a brake job that some one else did prior. Anti seized the back of thepads ,the slides, the caliper piston, and really put it on thick on the hub/studs., Oddly they used loctite on the caliper bracket . I looked like the tin man when I was done .

Whomever designed clothes dryer vent duct engineering - has to be a sado-masochist.

You can't attach the ducting unless the dryer is 2 feet away from the wall, everything is an inch off the freaking floor, and even if you get it attached...how on God's green earth do you get out from behind the freaking dryer?

Then there's the whole sizing thing - and the way everything attaches.

It's actually in the rules but I can tell you from first hand experience that few read the rules. That will get you banned on some smaller sites.

I've heard the Island is a very beautiful place.

Lonely, yes. But a very beautiful place nevertheless.

Whoever designed the concrete bag should be taken out in the middle of the ocean and shoved overboard.

Every time I use one concrete spills out everywhere. Bag falls apart on me.

California driver's handbook:

Right-of-Way Rules
General Information

Never assume other drivers will give you the right-of-way. Respecting the right-of-way of others is not limited to situations such as yielding to pedestrians in crosswalks, or watching carefully to ensure the right-of- way of bicyclists and motorcyclists. Yield your right-of-way when it helps to prevent collisions.

Know the Basics—Pedestrian Safety
10 Walking Safety Tips
https://www.nhtsa.gov/road-safety/pedestrian-safety

Be predictable. Follow the rules of the road and obey signs and signals.
Walk on sidewalks whenever they are available.
If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic and as far from traffic as possible.
Keep alert at all times; don’t be distracted by electronic devices that take your eyes (and ears) off the road.
Whenever possible, cross streets at crosswalks or intersections, where drivers expect pedestrians. Look for cars in all directions, including those turning left or right.
If a crosswalk or intersection is not available, locate a well-lit area where you have the best view of traffic. Wait for a gap in traffic that allows enough time to cross safely; continue watching for traffic as you cross.
Never assume a driver sees you. Make eye contact with drivers as they approach to make sure you are seen.
Be visible at all times. Wear bright clothing during the day, and wear reflective materials or use a flashlight at night.
Watch for cars entering or exiting driveways, or backing up in parking lots.
Avoid alcohol and drugs when walking; they impair your abilities and your judgment.

Yes, the pedestrians have the right of way.
But right of way and common sense should not be confused.
Back when I walked to school uphill in the snow barefooted, they taught pedestrian and bicycle safety in schools.

We learned to look both ways before crossing the street and to watch out for oncoming vehicles, because they might not see you or stop.
We learned to YIELD unless it was safe to proceed. Which is still the law.
and we didn't get all-runned over. We knew better. And it wasn't all that complicated.

But you can't turn on the news anymore without hearing of some Einstein who got ran over while crossing the street.
Pedestrians have the right of way all the way to the morgue. Same with DBs on bicycles who own the road because they are saving the planet.

Which leads to the next question, when a genius gets run over by a train, does he or the train have the right of way?

Drivers who have taken Social Distancing to mean leaving 3 car lengths between them at red lights, instead of their usual 2 ..

Yep..same here. But we didn't have cell-phones in those days.
Can't expect a pedestrian to be texting and look both ways all at the same time.
