You should have asked to use his citation book and written him up for the non-functional light. I knew a guy who worked for the Department of Transportation and did exactly that.

Speaking of .... there is lots of room between 2 cars on the road/highway and you signal and pull in between the 2. The asshat at the back tries to close the gap. Then they throw up their arms like you cut them off. Get the f##k out of my way!

Don't signal and they won't be able to react quickly enough.
When they throw up their hands and have the angry face you just smile real big, wave, and mouth the words "thank you".

Damn weather reporters that stand in the blowing rain, knee deep water, in harms way etc. to report. Then have the nerve to say, "Don't do this".
They all look so stupid.

I love that Baz! Yeah, can't even guess how often I've wanted to say "GTF out of the way!"
People yapping on their phones while wandering down the grocery aisles is the worst for me.

What’s with so many manufacturers mounting the turn signals or brake lights so low, down below the bumper? This one is a newer Buick but I,ve seen Hyundais and others with the same configuration. Doesn’t seem real safe and I’m a little surprised the DOT allows it (what with all their other rules and regulations).

Those reverse lights that stay on 5 minutes after shutdown.
(I'm sitting there, blocking the parking lot, waiting for them to move)

The DOT allows it because they successfully regulated that rear glass brake light into existence many moons ago.

Turn signals down low should be fine unless you're following REALLY close.

One of my pet peeves (this happened to me recently) is when you're in slow-moving drive time traffic, two lanes in each direction... 10 cars back from the next intersection and 10 or more cars behind you... and some flea brain wants to be let in from the right, pulling out of a parking area or street with their left turn signal on. So it's obvious they expect both lanes to stop and let them come across... holding up you and all the vehicles behind you.

The only ones more flea brained than that person is those who stop and let them get away with it.

I'm for being courteous and all that, but I don't believe one has the right to hold up 20 vehicles to let one dummy in.

In my incident, there was a broken-down delivery truck blocking the right lane about 5 cars up ahead, so it was already a bad situation... and the dummy couldn't go through because of oncoming traffic, so it just sat there blocking all of us for 30 seconds or so until there was an opening. It took me 3 more lights to get through that intersection and by that time, the traffic was backed up 30+ cars behind me.

Or there’s another car between you and the down low guy. I wouldn’t buy a vehicle with that set up.

HOV lanes that allow electric vehicles with the green plate.
Last week I see a Jeep with a 3" exhaust pipe that managed to get a green plate because he has an emblem that says 4 X e. WTF?

Someone is driving 60mph in the right lane. Good for them.
You switch to pass them. They speed up to 80mph.
Now you have to drive 90mph because there are impatient cars behind you.
You finally have room to pull right. They slow down to 50mph and are quickly a dot in the mirror.
Passive-aggressive.

Called a local bank today. After going through a bunch of prompts and extra buttons pushed.......I finally get ringing on the other end. Then a message saying "everyone is busy right now.....da da da..."

Is it too much to ask for a bank to have an operator who actually answers phone calls?

I got an advisory from my bank asking me to make an appointment with a financial advisor to update my rrsp preferences. So I go on to their website and follow all the prompts to select an appointment date and time. At that point the system advises my there are no appointments available.
F it. It's going to switch over in 17 months anyway.
I must admit I miss the days when I could walk in and 'have a minute' with the manager. Of course, back then I didn't have enough money to bother him or her about.

DVD menus are all over the map.

Most don't have enough contrast to see what button is highlighted. Some don't label or number the episodes. Some have super obnoxious background music. Some auto-play the entire content after a few minutes without being clicked. Some have twenty minutes of un-skippable previews (looking at you there Universal Studios). After an episode is done, some select the next one and some don't. Some use take five seconds to respond to a click because there are fancy effects programmed into it. Almost none of them go into a simple standby mode screen.

I'm now watching the old British Mi-5 tv series. It starts with a two minute mini-movie of a masked man breaking into a house (yours lol), split screens, instruction voice over from command, and lands at an unlabeled photo of a desk with objects. Oh it's a puzzle I didn't want.

Game of Thrones? Oh where to even begin. It's all wrong. Click on anything. Any episode. Any bonus feature. It will always say "Insert disk x". What? Why even show it then? Some bonus features are all on the last disk. Some are on the current. Some are on another. You have to know the secret code or resort to 'Play All' from the start.

I think they do that on purpose to cut down on scammers. They'd much rather see you in person. Atleast thats what I keep telling myself

I may have posted this before. It just happened again and it drives me crazy
I'm looking for something, not asking for help, just looking for it. But I'm already frustrated because something is missing/

"Whatcha don' hon?"
"I'm looking for my phone."
"Is it in your office?"

At that point I am tempted to say, "If I knew it was in my office, I'd just go get it." But I hold my tongue. One of these days ....

Just got out of another useless meeting. We need to prepare a report to the board that what we are doing is meeting the needs of the organization, and not just spending money.

Way too many times in the meeting the following phrases were used -

"Paint the picture"

"Tell the story"

Ugh.

OK, huge pet peeve here that really needs to be fixed:

gas station prices of $x.xxAND 9/10THS
Do we really need to keep doing the "and 9/10ths thing?
It just perpetrates a tradition of oil companies trying to deceive their customers.

Everyone knows that $3.999 is $4
It's just a waste of time and money for the station owners.

If a marketing-monkey at an oil company had any brains (ya right) they'd start a new campaign of getting rid of the dumbness.

Quote:
Back in the 1930s, when gas was just 10 cents a gallon, adding a penny would seem like a huge increase by 10%, so they went with less than a cent.

Starting mid-century, it became the norm for gas stations to end prices in 9/10ths of a cent, and it's been that way ever since.

If 9/10ths of a cent is meaningless in today's economy, why continue doing it? WCCO asked Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

"Now every station engages in it, so if a station were to suddenly stop, they're gonna look more expensive and people aren't gonna fill up there as often," De Haan said.

He says nowadays, it's all about competitive pricing and marketing.

MORE NEWS: Electric vehicle supporters cheer news of new EV charging network

"It's a psychological level, that is you're more likely to pull into a station at $3.799 than you would be at $3.80," he said.

Totals are always rounded, so you don't see tenths of a cent on your credit card bill.

"Nobody really wins," he said. "Consumers don't always win, gas stations don't always win, and that's why it's kind of held consistently."
