Pet peeve thread?

The scene: Costco gas pumps.

Why the **** do people feel they need a receipt??? They waste valuable time waiting for it to be printed while 5 cars are waiting behind them. They don't need it. Just put the cap on, hang up the nozzle, get in your car and drive off.

I had a F250 pull right up to my front bumper and it was obvious he wanted my spot when I was done. It meant I was going to have to backup through the busy convenience store parking lot. I decided to wash my windshield, which meant I had to walk to each side of my El Camino by going around the back as his bumper was 5 inches from my bumper. I then decided to check my oil and again lots of going to the other side of the car to pull the hood release and then struggle to get the hood open as I could not stand in front of my car. I was about to get out the tire pressure gauge to check my tire pressure, when he started his oversize truck, and with squealing tires left the station just as a cop pulled up and he pulled him over.

There were other pumps open that he could have gone to, but for some reason he wanted the one I was at. It was like it was his pump, in his mind.

OK, pet peeve relevant to this board, I’m annoyed by the guys who bomb the random photos threads with multiple photos in multiple consecutive or near consecutive posts. Often the photos are of the same subject and are almost a repeat of the same image. The only time I have ever put anyone on ignore is over this.

It takes like 2 seconds to print. If those 2 seconds are going to upset someone's day, then they have bigger issues to contend with.

Actually it takes them 10 seconds to find the print button, after it prints, they have to tear it off, compare the numbers to what is on the pump, fold it and put it in their wallet and put the wallet in their pocket.

If you run a business, you need receipts. If you’re keeping a budget it’s good to have the receipts. If someone is reimbursing you for the expense, you need a receipt. Not many people would stand around waiting for a receipt to print if they didn’t have a need for it.

As long as we’re venting about gas pump etiquette, what about people that leave their cars at the pumps. I’m not talking about a couple of minutes, I mean leaving the vehicle for 15 minutes while getting take-out.

Mr. Receipt steps in up to defend all receipts printers. As if I didn't know that there are groups of people that need receipts and I need someone to explain it to me. Thank God I now know.
