But I'll look for Jason and tell him Mike sent me as a scout before his visit next Monday!

Reference point. A (nice?) Cayman for $25k. High mileage, but 9 years newer than what we are generally talking about here.

Who has driven both a 996 and Cayman?

Lubey:

I stopped by the place in Glendale, but the salesman/owner said he had just sold the car yesterday for $32.5. 80K miles. Tiptronic.

He said he had a couple more coming in, so I left your name & number. No, j/k; I left my name & number and he said he'd call if/when they arrive.

He had a couple M3 cabs on the lot (2001) in auto and SMG. Man, I had no idea those things are just in the mid-teens these days. And an 850, but I'm afraid of that V12 so I didn't even bother to ask.

Ya, the snobs refuse to buy them because the claim they are NARP, and are driving the price down. The rest of us realize they are the sportscar bargain of the century and are snapping them up. So please, keep making comments like that!

I don't know man, I just can't get into the the paddle shifters, the navigation systems, the working ac's lol... I like the small, baking during the summertime experience :)

Who said you give up a classic 911 to buy a more modern Porsche?

If you have garage or parking space, one of each.

I have. The Cayman feels a bit more tossable, but depends on some factors (suspension, tires, etc). Cayman is actually the beast I'd want but they won't be cheap for another couple years and will never be as plentiful as 911s or Boxsters.

I have that in my garage, too. However, the 930 is Copper Brown and the 996tt is Seal Grey.

Looked at the red 996 Turbo in IL the other day, while she had so so much power it was insane! Price was lowered to sell - $28,000! Here was the catch, it had a bad dash situation, trim issue, power seat didn't work, external trim had issues. Made me wonder. You have a car like that, would you let those things slide? What of bigger stuff? I decided to pass...

Your gut instinct is the best PPI in my opinion. If it doesn't feel right than it's not right. This philosophy has maybe cost me a few " diamonds in the rough " but to date I haven't been burned either.
