Obama is handling the situation like a hanging johnny that can't do a thing. He is acting like a cuckold whose bride is being taken by a Great White...And he is at fault for allowing himself to be perceived as being a cuckold by Putin. Obama has all the power in the world and he squanders it..it is a lame excuse to think that he can not do something...and your excuse is...how is going to be paid for.
Obama and crew should have thought about the day when they might need to have some spare credit or money in the bank instead of their 872B Stimulus Bill that accomplished exactly how many shovel ready jobs? Go back in my record and you will see that I said that if they passed that business as usual bill they would not have the credit reserve in the future if another crisis would occur...Well today some of that credit reserve would have come in handy. Putin made the move because he sees that the USA is strapped by deficit and debt and that makes the USA partially impotent to do anything. However there are things that can be done through competent leadership that can ameliorate the situation. Putins hand is not all that strong when compared to the assets and position of the USA. It is all in the application of the assets...

I seriously doubt that the Ukraine can confront Russia. I understand that their military is in complete disarray Ukraine does not have resources to sustain themselves, and the government is bankrupt.

Putin made the move because with Yanukovych gone, Ukraine will join NATO. That means Putin's naval base is gone.

Obama has zero power to do anything that costs money. Read the U.S. Constitution if you're having difficulty understanding this point. The will to do anything that costs money doesn't exist EVERYWHERE in D.C. Only those who are posturing for political gain are talking tough. And those who have nothing to lose by parroting those tough-talkers, right, tabs? Doing something will cost money. Even the most idiotic of village idiots knows that. So, in this climate of no tax increases and balancing the budget, where do we find the money to do something? Seriously, I do understand the need to pout and stamp feet about how sucky this administration is. He's not your guy, so he sucks. That's fine. But I'm talking about hard reality here. And you're the guy who has been on his horse about the financials of the U.S. of A. So, now it's time to stop pointing fingers and come up with a solution. Let's hear it, tabs. What's your solution? |

But Putin does not seem to be intersted in all of the Ukraine. Just the Krim and some eastern provinces. People in those parts seem to want the Russians in!

Right. And with Putin's puppet back in office (which will happen soon enough), he won't care about the rest of the country. Well, until next year, when the outrage dies down.

Putin will play his hand over the next year. He's not only interested in the East.

Kiev, the wealthiest city in the Ukraine can't even afford tow trucks. They have a primitive infrastructure. They would last 15 minutes against Putin.
What worries me is that Putin is not afraid of isolationism. We know of a few other, radical countries like that. We'd like to think that in this media/twitter age that smartphones will keep things honest, but I doubt Putin really cares about that. When has he ever? Perhaps this is the perfect house of cards for him to roll all the way to the Carpathians. Everyone is broke.

There's always money to fund a revolution. Good ROI.

Someone once said if you do something well, U don't do it for free. Since I am not being paid to come up with solutions, I don't give them out. It is not my job... ![]() All though it is so easy to figure out.. My first step would NOT HAVE BEEN A CALL TO PUTIN. That was a mistake...for the outlined reason as stated above. I would have done something else though as part of my double secret plan!

LOL, of course. Just make something up to attack.
I know, you can't answer the question, because the answer is obvious. And the answer is also not to your liking. Well, I guess those banging on the "fiscal responsibility" drum have to swallow this one and smile. Everything has a cost, even positions that look like they have no downside at the outset. See, tabs, this is what happens when you get outside of your cozy forum where all the empty heads just nod endlessly at the repetition of blog entries reposted. Bobbleheads rarely have original thoughts, nor do they think all the way through their knee-jerk emotional responses to current events. But when jostled, those empty, platic heads furiously nod in response. So, in the end, you don't actually have any sort of solutions. You just are stamping your feet over what Obama did wrong. Regurgitated from others who said the same thing days ago. Outstanding. |

So who's going to claim the Ukraine badboy Antonov An225? It hauled military supplies in the Mid-East for the US.

![]() I just keep hearing the same old emotional diatribe over and over and over again from you. I really don't see anything from you except for angry negativity. You seem to keep harping on that all I do is repeat what was it again "regurgitated" talking points "from others?" Where do you get that silly notion from, those "others" get their talking points form me!

You obviously don't understand the meaning of the word you are using here. "Emotional" is actually an English language word with an established meaning. Throwing it out there over and over again incorrectly does not improve your position, nor does it give substance to your argument.
"Emotional" would be your knee-jerk response to a phone call, the substance or which you have no idea, that someone made. No data, just finger-pointing. That's emotional. See, tabs, I don't actually need to be "emotional". All I have to do is actually point out the lack of real substance your posts have, and that suffices. No emotion needed. I see that you claim that somehow those folks who have pre-dated your comments with similar comments are using you as a template. That's an interesting claim. I wonder how they violated the laws of physics to make that happen - can you shed light on this secret time travel project? Your repetitive, childish attempts at changing the subject are getting boring, and your outright falsehoods are annoying. Do you have solutions, or merely more regurgitation of others' talking points? If you have anything of actual interest to contribute, now would be the time. If not, maybe you could refrain from further nonsense until the next thread where you regurgitate others' words of "wisdom"? |

I just keep hearing the same old blather over and over and over again, and NOT from Silber.
It is meant to pass for original thought but isn't -- as numerous people have pointed out many times. Silber is just the latest to note that. I propose a carbon tax on blabbing blather. |
