My company is /was scheduled to do some med gas piping relocates in the new ebola isolation area at Bellevue tonight, I guess that ain't happening! Still have not heard from the facility.
To make matters worse, my shop is in Williamsburg, guess where the bowling alley is and the #7 train....... ![]() Also, my cousin is a ER doc who went to Madagascar this summer with Doctors without Borders (thankfully no where near the outbreaks) and my wife's boss's wife is a doc there as well. Not to mention my niece is head of the ER at another hospital in the city, and I have contracts for the entire NYC public hospital system for plumbing maintenance. This could get interesting. I imposing a mandatory 21 day quarantine for my self Take a little time off with my friend Mr. Jack Daniels.

I'm sure you are safe since Deblasio and Cuomo said "all is OK".

Yep, New York has it together. Check out the video on tv of 2 NYPD cops, assume well trained, after being in the docs apartment, removing their protective gear and STUFFING IT INTO A PUBLIC CURBSIDE TRASH CAN! WTF! New York version of the ebola buddy system?

I think some people have confused The Walking Dead with a documentary.

And safe from 32oz sodas
anyway, New Yorkers should rest easy knowing that the contagion/transmission potential is very low when the fever starts.

I predict the ebola epidemic in New York will be just as devastating as the outbreak in Texas!

from the article:
Dr. Spencer had been working with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea treating Ebola patients, and completed his work on Oct. 12, Dr. Bassett said. He flew out of the country on Oct. 14, traveling via Europe, and arrived in New York on Oct. 17. Since returning, he had been taking his temperature twice a day, Dr. Bassett said. He told the authorities that he did not believe the protective gear he wore while working with Ebola patients had been breached but had been monitoring his own health. Doctors Without Borders, in a statement, said it provides guidelines for its staff members to follow when they return from Ebola assignments, but did not elaborate on the protocols. “The individual engaged in regular health monitoring and reported this development immediately,” the group said in a statement. Dr. Spencer began to feel sluggish on Tuesday but did not develop a fever until Thursday morning, he told the authorities. At 11 a.m., he found that he had a 100.3-degree temperature and alerted the staff of Doctors Without Borders, according to the official. |

So you think that two more Health-Care workers will get it?Doc's are finally treating this virus with some respect. Even this sick doc will be more careful. If he makes it.

I get it, you want to make fun of people who see this virus as a serious threat to people. No doubt those two Texan nurses were told they would be fine with standard mask and gown. I expect that their lives were devastated by a similar casual attitude towards the virus.
I do wonder how we are achieving such a high survival rate. Just how many full body blood transfusions per day do these people get?

Seriously? This sheet again?
Why this need to take the position of others to such a far far away illogical extreme?

Screw that doc. he had the time to donate to help people in Africa but couldn't spare 21 days for his own countrymen because he just HAD to go bowling.
