This is funny. Unless you're a Pats fan. Or a Brady fan. Or a Jason Giambi fan. Or an A-Rod fan. Or a Nixon fan. Or you hate Olbermann.

Some people lost a lot of money on this, I can understand why some care. I don't think I would want to be known for cheating and the money it cost people. Win or lose but to be cheated?

I wish they were concerned as much about truth in politics as they are about truth in football!

I feel the same way - deflating a ball, like it's never been done before. Human nature: get an edge on your opponent, just don't caught.

don't know what the punishment would be but consider this: Big Ben of the Steelers got a 2 game suspension for slugging his wife. Brady should get a pass.

Moral of the story: no one cares. This won't hurt the NFL. the Pats, Brady, beer and commercials.

The NFL should make Tom's punishment equal to Ben's. 2 games, and no more flags for hits on the quarterback.

"I don't like the treatment he [Tom Brady] gets. With all due respect, everybody seen how we hit that boy in that black and yellow [Ben Roethlisberger], they don't throw him any flags. I mean everything's legal with Mr. Ben, but you get close to those guys who sell those tickets. The 18's [Peyton Manning], the 12's [Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers], the 9's [Drew Brees]. You get too close to them and they like, "Hey!". At the end of the day this is a business, you don't hurt those guys. You don't touch them, you don't even look at they bodies. It's a quarterback driven league."

In Rome they had the colosseum, you know. It served a useful purpose back then, too.

As a Pittsburgh fan seems legit. lol

Anyone here read how far lower statistically the Pat's fumble rates have been compared to rest of NFL. This was done prior to deflategate arose. Now mystery of lower fumble rates not so mysterious.

I'm not a Patriots fan, but suspending a guy for 4 games because he "probably was aware of the deflated balls" seems like a clear cut case for easy appeal.

Who knows if he was aware or not but that is BS if they don't have any evidence.

The report on the news yesterday was 3 out of 4 of the COLTS balls were also out of specification.

I saw a letter to the editor of the WSJ which basically showed the rule itself is extremely poorly written. When the unit of measure is wrong, the rule is bad.

The ridiculous thing here is that the balls being underinflated didn't help Brady. He and the Patriots played BETTER after the balls were properly inflated.

I expect that his appeal will reduce/eliminate his suspension.

They are putting on a show whether the results are pre-determined or not, they are all actors who are getting paid to act. I view it like some of the "innovations" that Smokey Yunick came up with in NASCAR that allowed his team to win until they were caught. So what, it makes for a better show !

Sorta my thought as well, and I'm no Patriots fan. They destroyed the Colts for that entire game, it had nothing to do with football psi. People who think that a slightly under-inflated football is the reason for the Patriot's success are sadly mistaken. The report itself also seemed really weak and 100% circumstantial, nothing that would ever hold up in a court of law. I suspect the NFL gets egg on their face (again) when the suspension is overturned.

and 243 pages long? I read somewhere that the final report on the My Lai massacre wasn't that long and that report was actually important (but wasn't written by lawyers).

The punishment is as much for the "lack of cooperation" during the investigation as anything, and although this ruse was caught during the Colts game, this has gone on for far longer.

Brady helped campaign for the ball rule change in 2006--where QBs have more control over the balls they use and hoe they can be conditioned--yet he admitted during an earlier press conference that he had no idea about the rules

Brady mentioned he had no idea who the equipment guy was--yet the guy worked for the Pats for years and there are multiple videos showing him tossing passes with Brady during warm-ups before games

This isn't the first time that teams have messes with the game balls and got caught--I remember the Vikes were using the sideline heaters to keep footballs warm--can't do that, I remember the Chargers using stick-um type substance on the towels which they wiped their game balls with--can't do that

Does anybody really believe that Brady had "no idea" about lower-level Pats employees doctoring the footballs beyond the rules--the footballs which he uses to earn a living and define a career??--Brady should have had his mea culpa moment--admitted the truth, probably received some minor fine, and the whole thing would have gone away--but his constant "no idea" routine has tarnished his "legacy" and reputation--he will always be remembered now for being both a cheat and a liar.

I think we should do a two part poll.

1. Is Tom Brady guilty?
2. Who is your favorite NFL team?

I think we would see some trends.

There is more evidence Hillary is guilty of some offense in her HD fiasco than Tom Brady in deflatgate but we don't do **** about that.

NFL is full of cheaters, give him 15 yards and be done with it. What BS!

Roger G wants you to think they're a bunch on parochial school kids playing in the backyard. NFL is no different from WWF.

EVERYONE was aware of deflated balls.

How many times in a game does a referee handle the ball? How many games has an official in the NFL had to ref before getting to the NFL? Are we expected to believe this is some surprise to everyone involved?

That was Ray Rice, not Big Ben. Ben got a 4 game suspension for being accused of sexual assault.
