LOL, I doubt you'd feel the same about Ben Rothlisburger. Everyone knows he assaulted those women and by your logic, since everyone "knows" he did it, he MUST be guilty, admit so and take his punishment.

Ya, screw the law or actually having to PROVE anything

or MAYBE, since your location is "Steelers Country" and you are 100% biased, you're a little bitter about the whole thing?

Defiant Tom Brady vows to blitz NFL with appeal of suspension in deflategate
Published May 12, 2015 •

A defiant Tom Brady went on offense hours after the NFL sacked him with a four-game suspension for his role in “deflategate,” vowing through his agent Monday night to appeal the “ridiculous” penalty.

A months-long investigation commissioned by the league found the Super Bowl MVP played a role in the intentional deflation of game balls, a move that experts say could have given Brady an advantage in the New England Patriots’ AFC championship victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

On Monday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came down hard on Brady and the Patriots, benching Brady for the first four games of the upcoming season, fining the team $1 million and docking it a first-round draft pick next year and a fourth-round pick in 2017.

"Games on the field don't count as much as the games played on Park Avenue,"
- Don Yee, Brady's agent

"There is no evidence that Tom directed footballs be set at pressures within the investigation and answered every question presented to him," said Don Yee, Brady's agent, who blasted the probe and suspension as "ridiculous" with "no legitimate basis."

Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who has a close relationship with Goodell, said the team will accept the discipline but complained that the punishment "far exceeded any reasonable expectation."

The investigation conducted by New York-based attorney Ted Wells, which was released last week, stopped short of finding as fact that the balls were deliberately deflated on Brady's orders. The NFL’s threshold for imposing discipline requires merely a finding of strong probability of wrongdoing. The report found that it was "more probable than not" that Brady was "at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" in the balls being deflated. Yee, however, called the outcome of the report pre-determined and blamed the NFL for its lack of standards or protocols in handling footballs prior to games.

Guess that's all it takes nowadays, to be "at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" means the same as being guilty.

Put me down for the latter, olbermann is the ultimate TWIT and to listen to anything he has to say only serves to lower a person's IQ.

C'mon - how could he not know? I am positive that Brady was behind all this -- he's the Pat's pretty boy. What he wants he gets.

If he were so clean of all this, then why didn't he turn over his text messages to his ball handler. (ha - Tom Brady has a ball handler!! )

As documented all over the NFL - each QB has very specific ways the ball handlers break-in and prep their footballs. Some QB's like the ball a bit under inflated, others over inflated. Some like it a bit more scruffed-up, others like it heavier. As long as the ball is prepared within the accepted guidelines - there's no problem.

Of course, the Pats have always had issue with staying within the accepted guidelines.

My advice to Brady - shut up, sit down, and take your penalty like a man. The more he whines and complains about his penalty, the more he looks like the girly little primadona that he is, and the more attention he will draw on his team's cheating ways...

And in other news, Rex Ryan is still in love with Mark Sanchez...

Ben was suspended for (4) games, although he was never arrested or charged. As soon as he was accused, the NFL laid down the punishment.

Brady made his bed on this issue--his "I know nothing" came back and bit him, as I posted, there have been plenty of instances of teams doctoring the ball in the past--had Brady taken a different tack, he probably would have been hit with a minor fine, and that would be the end of it.
Yes, there are teams in the league which I dislike, the Patriots being one--not sure about the bitter comment--it's just a game played by millionaires, and while I enjoy watching during the season, it certainly doesn't provide me anything but entertainment

Arrested or charged with what? These are NFL rules not federal laws.

apples and oranges. One, the Ben thing, was an allegation of something that happened outside of the playing arena. Whether Ben did or did not do what he was accused of had no relevance on the outcome of any game or the rules of the game between the lines.
On the other hand, what Brady is implicated in has to do with what goes on between the lines on the field - it goes directly to the integrity of the game itself.

If this is upheld and he indeed sits out 4 games....what kind of "punishment" is that?

Backup QB will go 4-0 and Brady will have some time off.....

Meh....

Pats will go 0-4 till Brady comes back. Then they will go undefeated for the rest of the season and win another Superbowl.

You heard it here first.

Wow, no kidding apples to oranges. Ben is accused of raping a woman, Brady is being accused of knowing balls were deflated. KNOWING, not actually deflating the balls, just knowing they were.

Seems pretty common knowledge Pete Rose was betting on baseball, so should everyone who knew he was doing so be suspended?

For the record, what Ben Roethlisburger did, it DID effect the outcome of many games...all the ones he was suspended for.

You mean the inflation of the ball or the sexual assault? What about just straight assault, where you drag your unconscious victim back to your hotel room, but don't do the sex part?

I have sort of gotten over watching pro sports. Since the strike in MLB, I have gone to a Giants game. Went with the parents, much more to spend the day with them and my brother than to see the "new" ballpark, that opened 15 years ago. That is how many MLB games I have watched since the strike. When I saw that video of that guy knocking that woman the F out, that did it for me with NFL football. I have been to more professional soccer games in person in the last six months than I have watched NFL games in the last 2 years I bet.

I cannot condemn all for the acts of a few. Cannot condem soccer world for the soccer holligans that watch it or the Brazilian fans who stab to death a ref.

Anyone watch the Braves/Brewers game tonight?

So I'd say foreign substance on a pitchers arm is worse cheating than "knowing" about deflated balls so of course Will Smith is going to be suspended for at least 30 games, the Brewers will be fined multiple million dollars and lose 5+ draft picks...right?
