Every storefront already had signage on the door, 18 or older.

And every single one IDs anyone who looks under 30.

The industry already understood it needed to be responsible yet local politicians would ignore that and present the industry as trying to suck in minors.

Same here. If I had a gun in the house while on that chantix I would have blown my head off. Awful experience

I smoke 29 years since the age of 13. Most of the time 2 packs per day or more. The past few years it was costing me $600 per month to smoke in New York

Been totally cigarette free for 13 months since I started taking vaping seriously.

While I doubt vaping is 100% safe, nothing can be worse than sucking down 40 or more cigs a day....and then I have to consider as well, the amount of time at work I spent standing outside in the rain not being productive, burning holes in the car seats, annoying my friends, worrying my mother, forgoing healthy food that costs more than pizza because I need to spend the money on cigs, extreme paranoia every time I see a spot in my throat, constant bronchitis...on and on all from smoking

Has anyone noted that it should be "Moving from smoking to vaping"?

I got nothing here but I do find the whole discussion on 'addiction' fascinating... I have studied it for years and interesting how "people in glass houses" must always cast stones.

Funny that I stopped smoking weed about 15 year ago... and now they are making it legal. A bit OT and sorry for the hijack but I understand you can now vap cannabis?

Not that I am looking to start another bad habit, just curious.

Legalization of MJ was about money and money only. After that, any discussion of its legalization is secondary at best.

Agree that it's not for everyone. I, and several friends all tried to quit using Chantix at the same time. 1 became suicidal, so quit taking it. He had the vivid dreams that you mention. He has had suicidal issues in the past, so knew the signs, knew what was "different" in his life (Chantix), so quite using it immediately after about 2 weeks. Another friend was able to quit for about a month. Had the vivid dreams, became forgetful, but it did curb his cravings (for a while). I got zero from Chantix. No dreams, no curbed desires--it literally didn't affect me at all, and I used it for about 3 months.

I have heard of it helping people, but nobody I know that has used it has quit.

Good eye, I tried to edit the title and turns out you can only edit the body of a post.

You can vape cannabis and hash oil, legally here in CA with a prescription. To me that is the worrying thing about e cigs; we used to have to find the time to go somewhere and furtively have a toke. Now kids can vape pot pretty much anywhere as it doesn't leave much of a telltale, they can be almost permanently high.


BTW, did anyone else catch that there is now a Marlborough Green for Cannabis being offered in CO?

Vaping weed (and tobacco) actually pre dates current style e gigs that atomize liquids instead of organic materials.

There were very strong rumors back in the 70's that big tobacco had grow operations outside the US trying to come up with consistent strains of marijuana because they thought there was a shot at legalization.

They even had trade names and packaging design prepared.

I recall seeing the Tijuana Gold package design, standard Marlboro design in Gold with a marijuana leaf on it.

Mind you this was back in the days before the internet and anyone with photochop could whip up a mock package in 30 seconds.

I don't smoke weed, but if I did, I wouldn't smoke those. Big tobacco is well known for adding so much "extra" **** to cigarettes (to keep you hooked), that it's unreal. Who here thinks for a second they aren't doing the same to their weed?

Very happy you were able to quit. I quit cold turkey several times, sometimes for years. I think one chap here said it best; you can never quit but you can stop for the rest of your life.

Personally, I shy away from offering my opinion about something I know very little about. Non smokers have never been in that terrible vice like grip of addiction, so it is a lot easier to toss off advice.

I would also never just tell someone flat out, you're wrong, I feel everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it differs from yours.

These forums are an imperfect medium; I don't mean to sound preachy. I am truly happy you were able to kick the ciggies.

I don't smoke weed but I wouldn't go for anything like that...
I also don't know how difficult it is to grow tobacco but weed is ridiculously easy... there us a reason they call it weed... because it grows like one!

I did not say that vaping is a gateway to cigarettes. I'm just saying that with the new cool, flavored, vapes we will soon have a whole generation hooked on vapes/nicotine. I'm sure it's not as bad as smoking cigs but I don't think they're healthy either.

Since I am a former smoker and I am aware of how difficult it is to quit, I have to wonder if it will be equally difficult to quit vaping once addicted. I always thought it was the nicotine that was the addictive component and that makes me think vapes and cigs are equal when it comes to quitting, once addicted.
