G'day!
|
When I was much younger I had the occasion to attend a driver's class instead of getting points for a traffic citation.
Most of these classes are a huge waste of time for me but I remember the instructor this day making a point that did stay with me. A person's personality can take the form of 3 different attitudes. 1. The child ("I want that to happen....therefore I am going to....") 2. The parent ("You shouldn't be doing that...therefore I am going to...") 3. The adult ("I know what I want and I know that is not right but I will maintain composure and do the responsible thing.") #3 is the ideal attitude

Some lights aren't timed and people speed to get through the next short block. Unfortunately that intersection is a tight pinch-point full of people crossing and standing right on the curb edge liked packed cattle. Impatient drivers and students/aka gravy train don't mix. I made a complaint to city traffic commission to extend the light a few more seconds. Eventually it changed. |

There is never a justified excuse for losing your **** and getting violent but the passive-aggressive nature of some drivers is enough to send a lot of people over the edge.

The barrier starts a the "N" furthest to the right. They like to sit so far to the left at the second to the right "85th St" that you just can't make it through. People are lucky if they miss only one light.

Elsewhere, the majority of people know how to drive.

I find this an ironically amusing post, given the apparent temperament you exhibit on this site.

Eric (the guy who used to live by you in the northend...) Hey Higgins, you are absolutely right, the amount of "bad drivers"/ road rage has done up exponentially. I've taken to driving my Dodge pickup (crewcab/longbed) into Fremont everyday rather than the boxster, they tend to "F'" with me a bit less. e

.Motion, exactly which decade were you driving all over the UK without seeing any Road rage? Maybe you have rose tinted glasses.
I have driven at least 30K miles annually all around the UK every year since 1983 and I see Road rage on a daily basis( not guns, this is the UK where we use our fists).
