It usually takes me weeks to get my old F150 up to 60 ...the toolbox (and stuff in it) are prolly worth more than the truck now. Someday it'll croak....then I'll get another older F150...newer ones are freakin' huge...meh.

It's a truck....a tool.....just like me

Nice truck.
I'd like to hear comments on how it is for freeway cruising. E.g. smooth, quiet, trans. shifting up/down.

Really cool truck. If you ever get the chance to tour the Detroit, River Rouge F150 plant ......DO IT. It is part of the Henry Ford Museum offerings, and very interesting how all the parts come together with "just in time" deliveries. The tour describes how steel taconite pellets arrive at the docks, and less than 48 hours later, that same steel drives off the end of the assembly line as a frame/structure. Every single F150 coming off the line is already bought/paid for by dealerships, or individuals.

Without tax, title and license we'e talking about $32K. I managed to find every incentive available from Ford. I created a Ford account in January and received a direct mailing incentive that was not part of what everyone sees. A small number of True Car discounts was also used. I financed a small amount just to receive the $750 discount. I'll pay off the loan on the first bill. I wanted to put the majority of the price on my Amex card just to get my 1% but this dealership only allowed a maximum of $2K on a credit card so, it wasn't worth doing. Also, the below invoice plan helped in price and I didn't need to haggle.

I may make that a summer time destination. My son and I have visited most of the great car museums in the US. The Petersen in L.A., The National Auto museum in Reno, and The Blackhawk museum in Danville, CA. I've hit a few outside the states like the BMW museum in Munich. I've heard good things about the Ford museum and now we have even more reason to go.

Over the past 23 years I've put around 400k miles in pickemups: a '95 chebby silverado, a 2001 tundra, a 2007 tundra, and a 2010 furd F-150.
The furd is ready to hit 100k and I am starting to think about replacing it, because I don't like driving vehicles with lots O'miles on them.

I am considering buying another furd. I'm really not interested in owning another tundra or silverado right now.
Haven't driven a new colorado, drove one when they first came out and it was crap.

The furd isn't great at anything but it's good at most things.
but no matter what i buy, it will NOT have goodyear tires on it.
I hate goodyear tires. they suck.
I'd hate them if they were free, or on a tree.

For the rest of my natural life, I vow to only buy michelin tires.

I recently got a ride in the backseat of a new f150. Not the reason I buy a truck but if you need to haul humans the 4 door ford has a ton of cabin space. Wouldnt say it was ultimate comfort in the back but it was a huge step up from the folding bench in my silverado. Impressive.

Nice looking truck. You mention ordering. I need a new truck. Want single cab, 4x4, manual transmission, absolutely nothing else. Ok, I'd take AC, but if it didn't have it, I'd be OK. Is this even possible anymore? Everything I see on lots or on-line is like some sort of behemoth luxury cruiser. I just want a pick up truck. And dammit, I can change my own gears, thank you.

+1 on the ‘17 Tundra. I’ve had mine 17 months, 31k miles, with no problems except a fog light mysteriously fell out.
I’m getting about 15mpg towing trailers over the winter. Got the crew cab and 6 1/2 foot bed. It fills up a parking space, can’t imagine having an 8 foot bed and needing two spaces.
It has a factory trailer hitch and brake controller and back up camera, headlight leveler, which makes towing nice. I loaded it to the max GCVW on a trip from Philly to western Ohio and it performed like a champ. It has great brakes and enough weight to keep a 7500 lb trailer behind it where it belongs.
The downside is it is taller off the ground than it needs to be. I had to get a step. The interior has too many flat shiny areas that reflect sunlight and blind me at random times.
One great feature is a climate control system that is controlled by three big knobs - fan, temp, and delivery. So simple to use I never have to take my eyes off the road to find comfy settings. Toyota must have a patent on this advanced system, as I don’t see it on a lot of other vehicles.

Nice truck. I’ll be glad when this fad of making a simple 1/2 ton truck so tall and bulky blows over.

I think you can order all that you want except for the manual tranny. At least for Ford. Chevy is probably the same. Other manufacturers may still make manual transmission trucks. You should be able find that truck on a lot. It would probably be a fleet type truck in white or black. Those have very little options. What I hate is that you can't pick your options a la carte. You're forced to purchase a package with things you don't necessarily want.

A friend of mine just got back from a race weekend at the local strip (100 miles away). He towed his 2003 Mustang Cobra behind his 2015 F150 with the Coyote 5.0L motor. He said he got 12.5 MPG while towing, and it felt effortless. He did say that it squatted too much, but that air bags will cure that.....good truck.

If you were closer, I'd be a potential buyer....if it only had Goodyears . I'm serious ....but not about the rubber. By 2010 were the F150s ginormous? When parked next to my buddy's 2014...mine looks like a Ranger by comparison...bigger is NOT better (for my needs).

Spot on....and I don't even want 4x4! And shrink them all

I have been looking around for a truck ever since I sold my Tacoma. This popped up and I jumped on it. 2016 F150 4x4 XLT Northwest Edition w/ 3.5L Ecoboost.

I have to say it's very comfortable and the engine has more than enough power to pull the R-Pod.

So what exactly is the Northwest Edition? Starbucks locator? Extra windshield wipers? Roachclip holders in the ashtray?
