Very nice. Looks great now and will get even better with a couple of years growth. Love the use of foliage colour

Steph, you have my favorite east coast plants that I can’t grow in south Texas. Are those azaleas miniatures? When I was in PA, mine were that size, but three years later were twice that size and out of control.

White Morels. More rare than blacks around here.

Mm-mmm! Sauteed in butter and garlic on scrambled eggs in the AM or grilled steaks in the PM.

Beautiful place, WD!

I either get huge azaleas or huge deer (usually the latter).

Morels pop up wherever they want. People have been trying to propogate the things for years and years. Every once in a while, somebody claims to have disoverd the secret. Nope.

They popped up one year in the GF's lawn, then under a bunch of spruce trees, then where a bunch of mulch got spread.

Expert shroomers do know where they tend to grow; usually in older, undisturbed mixed hardwoods with a lot of organic compost. Developers love to build neighborhoods right on top of them, though.

Yes they are miniature! Max size 1.5 feet.

Yes, I used to get half a pound a year on my property. Very tasty, and kind of rare. These popped up in my front lawn about 3 years ago.

All I get in my lawn after a wet spell are these stinky ones

And occasionally some of these big suckers

this is what I've been up to... creating constructed wetlands and re-vegetating with native prairie grasses (to manage storm-water runoff)

Can’t be too bad. The dogs often chomp on them before I get them with the mower.

I also get these in the leaf mulch. Very fine and delicate.

I just tuned into Azaleas this spring, have a couple in the yard, and did they ever go off. Wow a brief but spectacular blooming.

Loving see all of the beautiful landscapes in pelican land!

That was about a month ago.

The magnolia behind it is just starting to bloom now

Cheers Richsrd

Nice Azalea Rich!

The extra-cold winter we had had a positive influence on them this spring, for sure.

These flower stalks come from a member of the Bromeliad family called Dyckia. Very salt tolerant and resemble a succulent more than the traditional Bromeliad.

Pic taken at one of the properties I take care of.

Yep Peter. It's been tough watching what the northerners have continued to go thru this spring.

Down here we had a burst of spring about six weeks ago, then a few cold snaps to confuse the plants. Now well into solid spring weather.
And oh so green.
Nice change from Az.

But hang in there up north, spring is sure to settle in soon.
I hope anyway, funny weather these days.

Cheers Richard

Even the skeletal deciduous trees lining our drive , have greened up over the last few weeks.

Most of the trees in our yard stay green year around. But these lining the drive and a few others lose their leaves and look wintery for a few months.

Cheers Richard

Some very neat pictures and designs already in this thread.

My wife is a Landscape Architect. Works for a small firm in Los Altos, CA. Very talented folks. One of the projects they worked on was for an estate that later sold for $75M (about 5-10 years ago).

When I met her 30 years ago in NJ, she was designing the entrance to the Holland Tunnel.

Not very many pics of her most recent work (partially because many clients request max confidentiality).

They do have some interesting project pics up on their web site. Here is a link:
