How out of shape are you and how does it effect your sex life?

I just went out for an aggressive 10 mile ride, flats and hills, love my new bike. I work physically hard and am strong but found out pretty fast I have no aerobic fitness. Got home and found a text from a woman with whom I'm striking up a relationship and I immediately thought, "I would not want to have sex with me, it would not be great." I've definitely been getting by on the intellectual, emotional and imaginative sides of sex and am looking forward to rising to the occasion with the physical.

Do you find that sex is significantly better when you are in shape? Is it noticed? Appreciated? You may need to ask.

A: sex is all in the head (the big one). If she finds you attractive she doesn't care how many miles you bike.
B: There really is no B. If she is into you you don't need anything else.
C: Lack of confidence is not attractive. "I really like you but I have no aerobic fitness" is not going to moisten the promised land.
D: See C. Really. Confidence is sexy.

The short answer is you can keep wood better which is a good thing. That includes when using Viagra.

However, I think the better answer is if you feel ok about your physical self and you can tell she is turned on a smidgeon by your shape that will go a long ways towards making it a far better event.

I am still in recovery from my 3rd "scorched earth" divorce. I like not having the responsibility of meeting expectations.

I do miss soft skin.

It's all good advice here on this thread. It reminds me of the joke "how do you stop a woman from making love?" Answer "you marry her".

When I meet a man that has been married three times I ask him if he understands women. The usual response is no.

My theory is this. It's a conspiracy theory on the part of the women. They use sex as a tool to attract the man(think of the venus fly trap) and keep him. They marry and the woman provides sufficient sex to stay married(or not). Larry King has been married six times. He stated that the last wife was no better than the wife before. He is a slow learner.

I agree that there is a female culture in this continent that is anti-male or at least not conducive to normal male/female relationships. I am not saying any great conspiracy theory, but more that the underlying narrative that males (particularly white ones) are abusive at heart, that men and women are identical and therefore their roles ought to be identical and women "deserve" to get all the stereotypical benefits of being a woman plus all the cash they can grab due to their abused status.

It is not the same for other cultural groups. My g/f is Chinese, she harbours none of those illusions and readily accepts the fact that men and women are inherently different, with different roles and positions in society on a broad brush basis.

...and so do her many girlfriends....so it is a more broadly held point of view.

Personally, if I did not have her, I would not be pursuing any female companionship as the hassle is not worth the reward and the risk of entrapment is too high.

I would agree, to address your point, fitness does help if for no other reason that you have more energy and can more durably and continuously ..hmm...engage in the activity.

As for appearance, the other guys have it right...if the female brain likes you, your confidence, your humour and your attitude - all stuff which the g/f says is being a MAN, not a wimpy snowflake, then she will enjoy your shape, just so long as your belly diameter does not preclude provision of the full length of the object of her affection....

There is a certain level of physical fitness/fight that I want to have that makes me happy.

A perhaps larger portion of womankind are attracted to a happy man, they want to be part of that.

Some combination of what you are happy with and the expectations of who you are after is the goal to aim for.

There is also a smaller portion of womankind that seem to desire/thrive on misery, and a happy man is someone they will vilify. They want a miserable weak man that shares their own hatred for successful and happy people. Since I doubt any of us here desire this sort of woman I would say that internal happiness although not the only goal, it is a mission critical goal to being attractive to womankind.

Sometimes I’m in really good shape from cycling and sometimes I don’t ride for months and get out of shape. I don’t think I’m any better or worse either way. Just to be sure, I checked with the wife and she said I’m better when I’m in shape so just another example of how out of touch I am.

Like others have alluded too, attitude means more than anything. After all it’s sex not jogging.

The bigger key to great sex when dating at a certain age is Cialis. Too bad it’s so expensive at least on my insurance. Should be available in generic any day now.
