Not much done lately as it is the holiday season and my in-laws typically have car problems that they like me to "look at".

I also gave up my rack for a co-worker so he could swap out the suspension and drive train from his 240sx into another shell.

I took that opportunity to mock up the 930 front caliper and rotor assembly to check for interference with the 16x7" front wheels. As suspected and advised by our resident brake guru Bill V., I'll need a set of spacers about 5-6mm thick for the wheel to clear the caliper. Either that or some 944 turbo 16x7's(951 stamped).

Will you have to trim the longhood fender lip if you move the wheel out any further? Brake setup looks great.

When I sat the car back on the ground it looked like it might clear with a little more negative camber.
The fender lips are trimmed a bit already and I have access to a fender roller if necessary. Also I will be going to a 205/50-16 instead of the 205/55-16 that's on there now.

After mocking up the 930 brakes to find out what size wheel spacer I needed I also took some measurements for the new bolts that I'll need for the new caliper to strut mounts as well as the rotor to hub. I need +10mm for the caliper bolts and +6mm for the rotor hardware.

I think this is exactly what I need to do after I get some new wheels on my car could you detail all the parts you used and mods you had to make I have a 78 sc chassis and suspension so I should be able to duplicate what you did. Thanks

Well, first I bought a very nice set of used 930calipers/rotors from a fellow Pelican.

Then I bought a pair of verrrry expensive 2 piece rotor and hat assemblies from Steve W. at Rennsport Systems.

Then I had to buy 4 4mm washers from PP to correctly center the calipers over the rotors.

I'm now at the point where I need to fab or buy brakelines to mate with the flexible lines on my SC and I need to get thin spacers for my current wheels to clear the calipers.

Next, I'll be sending the rear calipers to Rennsport Systems to be machined to fit the SC trailing arms.

And lastly, I need to purchase the requisite 23mm master cylinder to make everything work.

If you want to save alot of time(though not money), Give Steve a buzz/email.
http://www.rennsportsystems.com/1-sf.html

Or, If I ever have to do it again I'll go this route:

Actually I had. Chartreuse was in my top 3 and may be moving up to #1

Not much to speak of as work has been incredibly busy as of the last few months(what recession??). I did however, finally send off my rear 930 calipers to the good folks at Rennspeed Systems for them to mod to fit the SC trailing arms. I have also procured the final(I think) piece of the brake upgrade puzzle: the 23mm master cylinder.

I found a little more rust in the area of the front windshield but it wasn't a big deal and I keep forgetting to bring my camera to the shop. Fear not though, I am very close to finally getting some primer on the car and I have almost all the mudwork done, although there wasn't much needed really.

Also, if you look at my sig, there's another reason I've been slacking. An 88 Carrera that I bought for my B'day for a semi-daily driver. You know how that goes, it's not really yours until you mod it a bit................

Thanks for the interest

Oh you have gone to the dark side (32C crew). Come on lets see some paint on that puppy. Got probably 3 months before I crank mine for the first time as a turbo no less.

Not the dark side for me:P Mine may not have paint on it yet, but I can still drive it around the shop as it's still a running car

Seriously, works been very busy as of late and I need some time away from the shop so I've been slacking. And for the last month or so there has been a guy at the shop that for whatever reason has decided that restoring an 1976 Honda Accord is a good investment And every time I'm there he is in my ear asking how to do this or that. He's already spent more on sandpaper than the car is worth Yet another reason to stay away from the shop.

Are you kidding? never go anywhere near those places during a grand opening. waaaaaay too many people there for my taste. I'll let the novelty wear off before I go there.

The only thing I wish we had here right now would be a Sonics(love me some tater-tots).

I took wifey there today it was hilarious I parked about three streets away and hiked in. I am embarrassed to have been part of the hype.

There were a bout 700 kids balling and screaming in there I should have shot some cell phone video but I didn't think of it till I left.

I saw one kid who couldn't of been more then three punching his mom in the face continuously because he wanted some toy, she was holding him, I couldn't figure out why she didn't just drop the kid and let him run out into traffic.. It was a madhouse.

They got some cool stuff in there but I didn't see a Porsche section so I left.

Wifey bought some curtains and stuff, shes cool like that. I wasted about 2 hours of my life on that adventure.

Welcome to the mainland mainstream in a couple years you will be completely brainwashed, one of the things I miss about the islands is the quaintness nothing was on the walmart model of herding the customers type madness.
